Chapter 45 Gravely Injured

  • The knife stabbed into the Sabertooth’s chin, upward, dealing deadly damage to the vascular structures and soft tissues in the neck and throat region.
  • This led to excessive bleeding as the carotid arteries—major arteries supplying blood to the brain, face, and neck—were severed. The rupture or puncture of the carotid artery caused rapid and severe bleeding, but that alone wasn’t enough to put the beast down. What sealed its fate was the damage to the jugular veins, large veins that return deoxygenated blood from the head and neck to the heart. The damage caused significant bleeding as well.
  • However, due to its incredibly high vitality, the Sabertooth didn’t die immediately. It continued struggling violently for a while, before finally going limp.
