Chapter 2 Surreal Experience
- Seeing everyone's faces consumed by greed, Han Jue remained unfazed, he already knew those so called heroes were nothing but greedy humans. The only person he couldn't ignore was Bruce Chen his stepbrother.
- Yes, Bruce Chen was his brother from a different mother.
- It all started three years ago. What was supposed to be a normal day for Han Jue, after returning from a hunt, turned into a nightmare. The scene still haunted him: his stepbrother, Bruce, standing over his mother with a spear, impaled into her back and his father's headless body on the side.
- It was the most terrifying moment of his life, one that shattered him completely. When Bruce realized he'd been caught, he tried to chase down and kill Han Jue. Han Jue ran for an entire day, injured, heartbroken, and desperate. Even the so-called heroes tried to frame him, covering up for Bruce for reasons unknown to him. Exhausted and battered, Han Jue finally collapsed into a deep crevice in the rocky ground. He survived, though with broken bones.
- But it wasn't the same Han Jue who emerged from that cleft, it was someone else, something else: a demon. Inside that cleft, he had discovered a scroll, lying beside the remains of a long-dead human. The scroll contained the instructions for creating one of the deadliest techniques in the world, a technique that even had the power to bring someone back to life.
- Determined to master this forbidden art, Han Jue began his path of destruction, burning villages, committing atrocities, and raising wars, all while growing his power.
- After three years of terrorizing the world, bringing nightmares and untold pain, and committing mass slaughter on an unprecedented scale, the so-called righteous heroes of the world finally gathered together to bring Han Jue down.
- A sudden gust of wind ruffled Han Jue's white hair, and it seemed like that was the signal they had all been waiting for. In unison, the entire group struck at him from all directions.
- "Save the world by purging him from the surface of the earth!" one of them roared with a ferocious expression.
- Han Jue exhaled deeply, his gaze calm, as he reached for the red-glowing saber hidden at his waist within his mecha suit. As he grasped the weapon, he unleashed his full strength, causing a shadowy red figure to appear behind him, a powerful illusion of his darker self. He knew that if he didn't give it everything he had, he would be doomed.
- In the blink of an eye, the shadowy red figure fused with him, surging his strength to new heights. The exhaustion that once dulled his eyes vanished, replaced by a pure, glowing red hue, devoid of pupils or irises.
- Seeing his transformation, the heroes quickly summoned their own beasts. But unlike Han Jue's fusion with his shadowy figure, their beasts only enveloped them, creating shields of power.
- Among them was a woman with eagle-like white wings that flared as she shot toward Han Jue, faster than any of the others, her face twisted with hatred. She was one of Han Jue's victims, one of those he had violated, and her fury was palpable. She also happened to be the second strongest person after Bruce Chen, and her speed in the air was unmatched.
- The moment Han Jue saw her approach, he rushed toward her at an equally fast speed. Her eyes lit up with anticipation, elated that he didn't try to escape. Finally, the moment she had longed for, her chance to tear him apart had come.
- But just as they were mere meters apart, Han Jue threw a fist-sized ball toward her—a ball imbued with the essence of greed.
- Caught off guard, her instincts betrayed her. Without thinking, her hands reached out and snatched the ball from the air, a reflex driven by her overwhelming greed. It was a flaw she couldn't hide, even in battle.
- However, she didn't get to savor her prize. The moment her focus wavered, Han Jue used the opportunity to activate a movement technique that allowed him to teleport behind her, though it cost him a small sacrifice of his blood.
- With an evil smile curling his lips, he delivered a clean, swift slice with his saber, severing her head from her neck. As her lifeless body plummeted from the sky, blood spurting from the gaping wound, Han Jue wasted no time. He darted forward and reclaimed the ball of greed from her still hands, now belonging to a dead, nameless hero.
- "Everyone! Don't charge at him one by one! The demon grows stronger with each drop of blood on his hands!" Bruce Chen shouted. Hearing his warning, the crowd's expressions turned solemn. They quickly pulled back, forming ranks and watching each other's backs, unwilling to confront Han Jue alone. He hadn't earned the title of Demon Prince for nothing; he was infamous for his cunning and ruthless nature.
- Seeing them hesitate, Han Jue's expression darkened. His power was waning, and if they wouldn't attack him, he would have to bring the fight to them. His mech-like armor roared in agreement as he dashed toward his closest target a frail old man. The old man's hatred for Han Jue was as fierce as anyone's; Han Jue had once done unspeakable things to his daughter. Yet, faced with his deadly approach, the man's survival instincts took over, and he shouted, "Someone, cover me!"
- Frantically forming hand signs, the old man summoned a storm of needle-like projectiles, which shot towards Han Jue with a single command.
- Han Jue didn't flinch; instead, he increased his speed, charging headlong at the man. He knew this was his only opportunity to eliminate the long-range attacker before he became a greater threat. As the needles closed in, Han Jue twisted his body with an almost serpentine grace, weaving through the hail of needles as if they were nothing.
- "Impossible!" gasped the old man, wide-eyed with shock.
- But Han Jue gave him no time to process the moment. Reaching the man, he plunged his blade deep into his neck, twisting it to ensure his death. The lifeless body dropped from his grip, shattering upon impact with the ground.
- Facing groups like this was routine for Han Jue, and he was ready for more.
