Chapter 6 Fire

  • Chapter 6
  • Getting inside the ward, everywhere was calm and there was no fire which caused Logan to give a wary glance at the nurse before him.
  • “I swear, her body jerked and fire emanated from her fingers spreading everywhere.” the nurse uttered to defend herself, but the doctor was quick to dismiss her.
  • “That is enough. Just get out of the ward.”
  • The nurse gave a quick bow before she left the ward.
  • After the nurse left the ward, the doctor approached Precious who was sleeping peacefully on the bed.
  • Rolling his gaze all over her body shocked him to his bones as he couldn't find any bruises on her body.
  • “Sir…” the doctor said in a slur, the stethoscope in his hands trembling and threatening to fall in his grasp. “This is rare. I’ve never seen this kind of miracle in the last fifteen years I’ve been working as a doctor.” The doctor said and flinched.
  • Logan walked forth, his eyes locked on Precious’s body. Somehow she looked familiar to him but he couldn’t prove that.
  • He sat down right beside her, his hands resting on her forehead to check on her body temperature.
  • It was hot and burning, so he demanded a damp towel in which he placed over her forehead.
  • It’s been 3 hundred years, his memories had been sealed and the only he could do was to love a human.
  • All his years on earth he detests women, he doesn’t want to hear the word in any manner and now, he has no choice but to play along at least for sanity.
  • “I’ll take her home,” Logan said rising to his feet and adjusting his swanky suit.
  • ******
  • Getting home, Precious was lying on the couch, with Logan stepping away from her side to speak with the maids.
  • A while later, Logan was seen in the kitchen standing beside a fireplace.
  • Elliot emerged from the door and stood to check out his master.
  • It was the first time he would ever see his master making food in the kitchen.
  • Does this mean that his boss was ready to love to break his curse?
  • “Would you just stand there and stare all days?” Logan’s voice erupted in the air cutting Eliot off his thoughts.
  • “Sir, she’s awake and saying she wants to see her father,” Eliot said in a deference tone.
  • Logan’s brows furrowed and a hint of unusual feelings burned through his heart causing him a massive pain.
  • He pursed his lips in a thin line to quelled the pains.
  • “She needs to drink some soup,” Logan said, holding a wooden spoon in his hands.
  • Eliot blinked his eyes several times to be certain he had heard his master.
  • “Should I feed her?”
  • “No!” Logan chimed. “I’ll feed her myself.”
  • Eliot let out a subtle chuckle and strived so hard not to laugh when his boss answered in a displease tone.
  • “Master is it that you love the young mistress?” Eliot inquired and sank his teeth into his lower lips when he realized his mistakes.
  • On the other hand, Logan who was trying to taste the soup stopped halfway with the spoon in the air.
  • He annoyingly dropped the spoon on the kitchen cabinet then ironed the outside of his shirts with his palms.
  • “You go ahead and taste this, when it’s cooked, you served her,” Logan ordered then took his leave.
  • While he opened the door of the kitchen and stepped into the living room, he saw a glimpse of her high, cheekbones in a delicate face.
  • Her face was austere, and her manner haughty.
  • But in a flash, he was quick to teleport and so when she had turned Precious couldn’t find the person who was staring at her.
  • Suddenly her nose caught a whiff of a scent which she followed down the stairs.
  • As she was about to touch the end of the staircase with her feet, Eliot’s face drew her attention.
  • “Miss Grey?” Eliot called and precious slowly whirled to check him out.
  • She had forgotten that at the moment, her name was Alicia Grey.
  • While she sat down and devour the soup, Eliot asked if she was enjoying the soup and she nodded.
  • “I can ask them to prepare something else if you don’t like it.”
  • Precious who’s Alicia paused to swallowed the liquid in her mouth down the back of her throat before exhaled some air.
  • “Who cooked this soup? Just tell me the truth.”
  • Eliot stealthily rolled his eyes around the room then leaned closer to her. “It was prepared by my master. You need to see the way he dedicated his time to preparing this soup for you. My master is handsome and charming.”
  • At the mention of charming and handsome, Alicia threw up and gasped for breath.
  • Eliot who witnessed this was shock and rushed to assist her but she dismissed him with a wave in the air.
  • “What’s wrong miss?” Eliot enquired in a lower tone with a hint of concern in his tone.
  • Alicia rolled her eyes upward and then smirked. “The soup tastes sour and more like a horse urine. How do you expect me to drink that huh?” She reprimanded.
  • “The person is such a bad cook. I need to eat pasta and I want it to be prepare by you.” She said in a commanding tone.
  • Eliot knows how much his boss had always valued his guest so he rushed to the kitchen to make some pasta.
  • On the other hand, after Eliot had left, she tiptoed and stealthily hauled towards the staircase.
  • The scents keeping growing stronger and attracting her attention.
  • As she descended through the stairs, she opened her ears, hoping to hear sounds or anything to drawn her out of her dreadful state.
  • It was dark downstairs the moment she turned to her left in the hallway to walk in the direction of the scent that was driving her crazy.
  • “Hello?” She called softly, her voice resounding in the empty room but there was no response.
  • The scents stopped and she froze for a few minutes after the scents became stronger by the door to her right-hand side.
  • She stopped in front of the door, taking in her breath and the scent before pushing the door open.
  • She shrieked and fell to her knees the moment she opened the door, and her eyes met with a statue.
  • Her body trembled and no matter how she tried, it seems her energy were being drained at the moments.
  • What was that?
  • She pondered in her heart.
