• "Mommy..." The door slowly opened, and Evie stood in her nightgown, her eyes wide with worry. She walked over cautiously. Still, a bit rattled from the earlier scolding. She wrapped her arms around Amelia and whispered, "Mommy, are you mad?"
• Amelia knelt, pulling her daughter close, feeling the warmth of their wolf bond flow between them. Her tone softened. "Mommy’s not mad, but let’s avoid shooting with water guns from now on, alright? It can be risky."
• Evie’s face brightened with relief. "Okay, Mommy! I promise I won’t do it again!" Her sweet smile melted away the last bits of frustration Amelia had been holding onto.
