Chapter 2
- Amelia
- It was dark and I had no idea where to go. The night air was chilly and everywhere was so cold, that it felt like I would freeze to death at any moment.
- How could they be so cruel? Not only was I expelled from the pack, but I was left with nothing. No money and here I was standing by the pack borders, penniless. How would I go from there?
- I sucked in a deep and shaky voice, my whole body shivering with cold as I looked around for any soul. There was no one. I was alone and I wasn't even sure anyone would help me.
- I lost count of how long I stood there, but suddenly, two men approached me. They were huge, bald and unfamiliar men. They had this scary aura emanating from them that scared the living hell out of me. Where did they suddenly come out from?
- “Who are you?” I felt my teeth shattering as they both stood in front of me. Both men were dressed in black.
- “Miss Amelia,” One of them called, bowing his head slightly as my eyes narrowed.
- “I asked who you are?” I was extremely scared, but I managed to use a stern voice. I wouldn't show my fear, especially now when I was alone with two huge men in the middle of the night.
- “Jax was locked in the pack by Beta, and he asked us to help you.” One said and I stilled, with a slight look of confusion on my face.
- “Jax?” I drew out in a questioning tone, wanting to make sure they knew exactly who they were talking about.
- “Yes. He'd figured you'd need a place to stay tonight. You'll follow us to the hotel where you'll be spending the night. Jax will come for you first thing tomorrow.” He reported.
- I was grateful. My mate didn’t give up on me in moments like this. I actually needed a place to crash and a place to warm myself up.
- “O….okay.” I drew out, flashing a sheepish smile at the both of them.
- They both nodded, as one of them pointed at a car.
- “Lead the way miss, Amelia.” I nodded as I slowly began to walk towards the car.
- I felt so happy that Jax was coming the next day. He was my mate, the only one who trusted me and the only one who can help me back to the sliver moon pack.
- I slid into the car, both men taking respective seats at the front before the car drove off into the night. The car stopped in front of a hotel that was located at the border of the werewolf forest.
- It seemed like Jax already booked a room since they led me straight to the room. I stepped into the room first and the moment I stepped in, the door was abruptly closed.
- Now that was strange. There were no questions asked as the men just closed the door. I tried to open the door but I realized that it was locked. At that moment, my heart began to race. What the hell was going on?
- “Who's there? Hello!!!!” I yelled, knocking loudly on the door. “Hello!!! Get me out of here!!!” Fear crept through my spine as I got no response.
- I looked around the neatly arranged room with a racing heart. I had no idea what was happening, but it was apparent that I was in trouble.
- “Hey!!!!! Hello!!!!!” I knocked loudly on the door, but still no response. I ran straight to the window but my heart skipped a bit when I realized that I was on the last floor of the hotel. If I jumped down, I'd die.
- “Get me out of here!!!! Hey!!!! Jax!!!” Each time I yelled, I was greeted by absolute silence. There was no one. I had fallen into a trap. A terrible one.
- I ran around the room frantically, looking for a means to escape and just when I was about to give up, I heard the door click. I ran to the door as it slowly opened and I was stunned by who I saw!
- "Chantel?"
- My stepsister!
- She stared at me with a smile and asked, "I hope you didn't get hurt, Sis?"
- "You sent them?" I uttered, still in shock.
- Chantel shoved my questioned and expressed her sympathy towards me. "Jax was worried about you. He asked me to come here to make sure you were okay," She said, making me sad.
- My father, the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, brought back his mistress and a stepsister a year older than me after my mother passed away. I always thought Chantel thought of me as her enemy, and I didn't expect her to support me in such desperate times.
- Emotional, I rushed into her arms for support. She held me close, patting me on the back.
- "Chantel, I swear I didn't do it. I didn't murder Leon. It's not me!" I cried.
- "I know, Amelia. I know," She said, caressing me.
- "I have to return to father and prove my innocence. He needs to know that I'm... AHH!" I exclaimed on feeling something sharp pricking into my neck from behind!
- The pain forced me out of Chantel's arms, only for me to see a syringe in her hold and her smile fading into... Darkness!
- “What did you—” My eyes began to grow heavy and the next thing I saw was black.
- When I woke up, I felt aches all around my waist down to my legs.
- I groaned into my pillow, my eyes fluttering open and I could feel my strengths slowly coming back to me. Looking around, I realized that I was still in the hotel room as everything came flashing back.
- Fuck! I fell into Chantel’s trap!
- “Chantel!!” I yelled, sitting up on the bed in a swift move. She injected me last night, rendering me unconscious. I was about to get out of bed when I realized that I was completely naked.
- My whole body trembled. I tried to understand what happened when I felt a sharp pain coming from my private region. I tossed the blanket covering my lower body and froze at what I saw.
- "Blood?" I gazed in shock, staring at the blood stain on the bed.
- It's... It's coming out of my...
- "It can't be. No, IT CAN'T!" I busted out in tears, trembling and crying at this horrible scene.
- I couldn’t believe what happened. I climbed off the bed as if it burned like lava. This wasn’t a dream.
- I had to get out of here. I grabbed my clothes and pulled them over my head, but the front door burst open.
- “See, I didn’t lie,” Chantel said.
- Jax marched into the room. I froze. He stared at me in disbelief.
- “Jax… please this isn’t what it looks like!”
