Chapter 61 Warning
- The other man in the room, the one who had just told Xander to use her and kill her, shifted uncomfortably but said nothing. Sarah's heart pounded against her ribs as Xander crouched in front of her, his fingers gripping her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze.
- "You were eavesdropping," he stated, his voice calm, void of any real anger, which only made it worse.
- She would have preferred if he shouted. If he showed any reaction at all. Sarah swallowed, her throat dry, her mind reeling. What could she even say? She had been listening. She had heard the man tell Xander to get rid of her, to use her and dispose of her like she was nothing.
