Chapter 13 The Uncomfortable Tension
- Sarah, now fully recovered, made it a point to always join Vincent and Camille for dinner. At first, it seemed innocent—after all, she had lived in the house for months and had every right to sit at the table. But soon, Camille began to notice something off. The way Sarah dressed had changed. Her short dresses hugged her frame, revealing just enough to draw attention but not enough to be outright inappropriate. And Vincent noticed. His eyes would flicker toward her, his jaw tightening slightly before he forced himself to look away.
- The first few times, Camille ignored it. She convinced herself it was all in her head. But one evening, as they sat around the dining table, the atmosphere shifted. Vincent was reminiscing about his college days, laughing as he recalled his best moments on the field.
- "You should’ve seen me back then," Vincent said, his voice lighter than it had been in weeks. "No one could get past me during a game."
