Chapter 7 There Won't Be a Future
- When the two of them arrived at the scene, it was already too late.
- His buddies looked at the real-time scene on the big screen, their hearts tightened.
- "It's too late! They've already left. If anything happens to him, how will we explain it to his parents?"
- "Cut it out! Stop saying such unlucky things!"
- "I knew that as long as he's related to Grace, he's like a lunatic. In the past, he only fought and was punished at most. Now, he's even giving his life. He's really obsessed!"
- Upon hearing these complaints, Noel, who had yet to catch his breath, hurriedly elbowed the speakers.
- When they turned around and saw Molly, they shut their mouths.
- Twenty minutes later, two roars sounded in the distance, gradually becoming clearer.
- Molly looked at the two cars alternately taking the lead on the screen and then at the last 2 miles. Her brows were tightly furrowed.
- A few minutes later, two racing cars appeared in front of everyone.
- This also meant that this competition was about to end.
- Robt's car was in front, but the gap was not big.
- In the last mile of the sprint, the boys looked at the changing numbers on the screen and cursed angrily on the spot. "Robt, do you want to die?"
- Molly followed their line of sight and saw the black racing car speeding past like a bolt of lightning. It was so fast that he could only see a phantom.
- 100 feet, 50 feet, the last 10 feet...
- Robt did not slow down. He was the first to cross the finish line.
- In order to win, the price he paid was to smash the shock absorber equipment outside the finish line into pieces before flipping out with his car.
- The race ended.
- The boys at the finish line ran over and saved Robt, who had fallen to the ground and was covered in blood.
- He spat out mouthfuls of blood, and the light in his eyes slowly dissipated.
- "Hurry, take, take the necklace. Give it to Grace. Don't, don't mention what... happened today..." Before he fainted, Robt said one last sentence.
- It was for Grace.
- It had nothing to do with Molly, who was waiting at the side.
- Just a little bit more and Robt's left hand bone would have been shattered. His career would have been ruined.
- After the surgery, he was still unconscious, but he kept muttering Grace's name.
- Molly looked away silently when she saw that he was still terrified and afraid of losing something in his dream.
- After a night, the effects of the anesthetic dissipated.
- Robt opened his eyes and looked at the haggard person by the bed. His heart softened.
- "You were watching over me last night. Didn't you sleep?"
- Molly pressed between her eyebrows and grunted softly.
- He saw the weariness in her eyes and his heart went out to her as he rubbed her head. "Thank you."
- Molly's tone was calm. "It's okay. You're my brother's best friend. Logically speaking, I should take care of you."
- What she said was very wrong. Shouldn't she be taking care of me because she was my girlfriend? How come she's only taking care of me because I'm her brother's best friend? Robt wondered.
- He subconsciously realized that the little girl was angry because he was participating in a life-and-death race. He was about to explain, but he felt that it was inappropriate to say anything.
- Fortunately, Molly did not ask him. He then changed the topic. "During this period of time, who came to visit me?"
- "Your dozen or so brothers and the club's agent."
- The smile on Robt's face slowly disappeared, leaving only a cold expression.
- However, he refused to give up. The corners of his lips curled up slightly, but there was no smile in his eyes. "Just them? There's no one else?"
- After she nodded, his expression suddenly turned cold. He did not speak for the entire morning.
- Molly knew who he was waiting for, but she did not speak.
- Robt stayed in the hospital for a few days, and Molly stayed on guard for a few days.
- On the day he was discharged from the hospital, he looked at her thin face and a trace of heartache flashed across his eyes. "Molly, thank you for the past few days."
- Molly picked up his luggage with a calm expression.
- "You're welcome. Ever since I came to Flurg City to study, you've been under my brother's commission to take care of me. Just treat it as me repaying his kindness. Although a few days can't compare to a few years, I shouldn't have caused you any trouble in Flurg City. It's considered equal."
- This was the second time she had put their relationship aside.
- Hearing this, Robt felt that something was wrong and could not help but look at her. "We're a couple. Why are you talking about repaying my kindness? Shouldn't I continue to take care of you in the future?"
- But Molly avoided his gaze, her voice soft and inaudible. "There won't be a future."
