Chapter 24

• The hall was crowded with people as Wyatt and Harper walked in. Alphas from various packs gathered with their mates at the bar and dessert tables. Harper felt like she could barely move without brushing against someone else. She never knew that there were so many different packs. As she craned her neck to count the Alphas around her, she was sure there were at least a few hundred in total.
• "Sorry… Sorry," Harper murmured over and over again as she and Wyatt weaved through the crowd. She tried not to touch or make eye contact with anyone, leaving her to stare at the marble floor and Wyatt' polished shoes.
• "Don't be shy, Harper. I'm right here," Wyatt whispered in her ear, but his voice was so distant. Harper's instincts made her feel like something was off. She felt as if something was going to happen that night.
