Chapter 51 - Nowhere You Go
- The next morning, after I woke up, I stayed in bed and mused about my escapade with Zane.
- If only I hadn't left the hospital on impulse, I wouldn't have met Alex and we wouldn't be in this mess right now. But I could not have foreseen what was about to transpire. In my mind, I had a plan: if he had settled things well with Marelva, my conscience would be clear, and we would enjoy our love without guilt or regret.
- The fact was, I could not live without him. However, my conscience could not bear depriving three children of their right to have a father. And Marelva wasn't really cooperating; it was obvious she wanted Zane for herself. The drama she caused last time at our house proved it—she wanted to complete her family. Wasn't she and her children entitled to that? Wouldn't I want the same if I were in her position?
