Chapter 42 - Getting Closer
- The pain was immense, almost overwhelming. How much more could I endure? Why was this happening to me once again? The tears streamed uncontrollably, no matter how hard I tried to hold them back. I wanted to be strong, but the agony I felt didn't give me a chance.
- The image of Zane and Marelva with their babies tore at my heart. I would have done anything to be in that place, cradling tiny versions of Zane. My sobbing intensified as a tightness gripped my chest, the pain overwhelming to the point it was difficult to breathe.
- Suddenly, a familiar hand touched my arm. The air was filled with the scent of the forest and the unmistakable presence of a wolf. I turned around to find Johnston there.
