Chapter 113 The Abduction

  • The driver gave one final glance in the rearview mirror and smirked—a slow, satisfied smile. The car pulled off the main road, down an overgrown path riddled with potholes and shadows. Emily slumped in the backseat, unmoving, her head bowed, arms limp, her cat nestled unknowingly against her.
  • He parked the car in front of a decrepit building—the kind with broken windows, graffiti-stained walls, and rusted steel doors that looked like they hadn’t opened in years. The concrete floor inside was cracked like old skin. The only light came from the thin stream of moonlight filtering through a collapsed roof.
  • Two men emerged from the shadows, dressed in black. Without ceremony, they opened the door, took Emily’s motionless form, and carried her inside.
