Chapter 3 The Dance
- Chapter 3
- The Dance
- Strangely enough, that night Allyson felt much more beautiful than usual. That lingerie really suited her. She's a little darker and the light pink contrasts with her skin very well. She does pole dance moves. She goes up and down on her head to the sound of “Real” by Ki-Si Yang. A very sexy song from her playlist.
- Allyson sees absolutely nothing on the other side of the glass, this person must really not want to be known by anyone. She descends to the ground, holding the metal pole while sliding her hands down the side of her body. Allyson then brings her index finger to her lips and bites it, smiling provocatively at the mysterious spectator. In her mind, she confesses to loving this mystery. It excites her a little more than the other performances she's given in the last two months.
- When the song finally ends, she blows him a kiss and leaves the room, completely unaware of the mystery person, but that doesn't matter. What matters is knowing how much he paid for the performance, although she doesn't have high expectations. They usually pay very little.
- Back in the dressing room, Allyson changes quickly, she's tired. It's already 10:36 p.m. and she needs to get to sleep soon, college is going to be exhausting tomorrow. But first she sees Margot come through the door with a scary smile on her face
- “Did you see that gentleman paid for you?” she says almost jumping up. “You're going to buy me a bag!
- “My God... “ she replied, putting her hands forward, trying to hold back her friend's jumping for joy. “You know I need to buy my father's medicine, you crazy woman,” she smiles.
- “That's true, my friend, but everything will work out. Maybe more of these rich guys will show up here. I wonder how much he gave you?”
- “The better question would be how much is Barry going to get for him, isn't it?”
- “He's not like that, Allyson, you should know that by now”
- Allyson is starting to get happy. Will these dance nights really help her dream? Are they really doing any good? She hopes this isn't the only generous client of the week... She took this job two months ago because she really needs the money. However, you notice that there are other girls looking at you with some envy. Well, you can't please everyone, she thinks. They have no idea how hard she works to give my father dignity. Only Margot accompanies her on these crazy things because she also needs immediate cash. Everyone has problems, but some people seem to forget that when it comes to envying other people's misfortunes.
- “Daisy, Barry wants to talk to you. “ one of the girls warns.
- “Quick girl, quick! “ Margot hurries her along.
- Maybe she thinks Allyson can give her something. If she could, she would, but she can't. Allyson is just grateful that Margot introduced her to this job. The two of them study some subjects in common at college. That's how we met.
- Allyson clicks her heels in the direction of her boss's office. She knocks twice and hears him whistle on the other side. That's how he tells people to come in. She opens the door slowly and there he is, sitting at his desk fiddling with money, his feet up on the table, not at all elegant. She remembers Peter in her living room. The way he behaves, the way he moves, the way he drinks his coffee and even the way he types on his computer keyboard. This man in front of her can never be compared to Mr. Fletcher.
- “Daisy?” He takes his pipe out of his mouth. Puffing the air with that rotten smoke. “How can I help?
- “I see I received a considerable sum today, sir. “ I said, sitting down in an old armchair next to his desk.
- “Yes. And that's very strange, because he knew your name and surname.”
- “What?” he gasps.
- “I was surprised too,” he says to her. ”I wondered what this girl was up to. Some ex-boyfriend who's going to get me into trouble? I hope you remember what I said on your first day at work, don't you?”
- “Yes, sir, no lovers here”
- “And who is this man?”
- Allyson looks at him with a certain indignation.
- “I don't know, I didn't see him, he was in the dark the whole time”
- “So, Daisy, refreshing your memory” that cigar smell nauseates her ‘I hope you remember that I don't want any trouble’.
- “Yes, sir, you won't get into trouble”
- He opens a drawer and throws her a fat envelope, which she promptly takes. She opens it slowly, not very hopeful. It must be 100 one-dollar bills. But to her amazement, when she sees the bills, there are many 100-dollar bills. Allyson tells her everything.
- “Two thousand five hundred dollars?” she asks him nervously.
- “It must be. “ He replied, scratching his throat.
- “And you don't mind?
- “Mind what? It was your show. He paid the entrance fee and the rest is your money.
- The young woman's smile grows exponentially, it almost hurts my face. And to think that she always thinks badly of Barry. She quickly puts the envelope in her pocket and gets up to hug him, but he quickly dodges Allyson.
- “What's wrong?” He asks. “I just wanted to say thank you.
- “Miss, there's no need for that, go home. Go spend your money and get a cab.”
- She sighs dryly and lets out an unintentional laugh, which she then covers with her hands.
- “Thanks, Barry.”
- I hold out my hand to him and with a smile he extends his. And in a handshake, we end our awkward interaction and with generosity on his part, he says goodbye. You'd never think the owner of a strip club would be so kind. He always walks around with such a closed face. Allyson runs out of her office jumping for joy and Margot is already waiting for her, and of course with a sarcastic smile on her face.
- “How much, how much, how much?! “ she jumps up.
- “Two thousand five hundred!”
- She screams loudly in the corridor and hugs her so tightly that Allyson can hardly breathe.
- “Now, please don't be late anymore. “ She slaps her on the shoulder. “I'll tell the other girls!
- She starts running towards the other dressing rooms.
- “ What about your bag?!” She asks.
- “Just kidding, miss! Use the money carefully! “ Then she disappears around the corner of the corridor.
- Allyson finds herself staring at the wall with a dull smile on her face. What to do with all this money? It pays for more than your father's medication. The money from the internship already pays the rent. It doesn't matter now, later she'll think about what to do with all those bills. Suddenly the door to Barry's office opens and he appears with a serious look on his face.
- “Daisy... “ he says in a shaky voice. “Be careful, okay?
- “Be careful?” Allyson is confused.
- “Yes. Crazy people with a lot of money are usually perverse.”
- “Was the man who paid me that strange?”
- “No, he was even a handsome guy, even if he was behind a mask.”
- “I see.
- “ Now get a cab and get out of here, come on.
- She takes the hint from her boss and say goodbye to him with a simple nod. Your memory of the car just like your boss's comes back. Maybe?
