Chapter 1 The Boss
- Chapter 1
- The boss
- "Listen, Miss Mitchell... " Peter starts to speak and Allyson's day starts to get worse, "The party last night must have been good, but we have rules here about working and delivering documents on time."
- Allyson looks away from his beautiful eyes. He is an unattainable temptation in her mind. And it's a mystery why he came to her. Peter Fletcher doesn't go to anybody. People come to him. That's imperative.
- "Yes, sir. Excuse me, sir."
- Peter has no idea why his employee is always sleeping on the clock. She's beautiful and attracts his attention too much for him to be madly attracted to her. But he prefers to keep it a secret because she's his employee. A man in his position cannot be accused of harassment, so he leaves the room and returns to his office.
- The hours pass and Allyson's eyes are almost closed with sleep. She looks at the clock, which only shows 4 p.m. She leaves the office at 5 pm. How she wishes the hours would fly by. But they don't. Allyson looks into Peter Fletcher's glass room and there he is, back on the phone, closing deals, talking to clients. Going about his daily business. She dreams of being like him, but her life is a mess.
- Ever since her father went into debt with the store, Allyson has chosen to work at something else to make ends meet. It's just the two of them, but her father's diabetes requires a lot of care, special food, and expensive medication. Allyson can't afford to pick a job. So she sleeps herself to death at work. The Venus Club takes all her energy during the day, even if she doesn't get home late. And it's the only way she can pay all the household bills. The beautiful intern puts her fingers to the keyboard and begins to quickly type up the contract for one of Mr. Fletcher's clients. But at a certain point she feels a warm hand touching her arm and realizes she has fallen asleep when she sees her head hanging from the monitor in front of her. Allyson suddenly lifts her head and sees Peter Fletcher sitting at his desk, one leg on the floor, holding a cup of coffee. It smells good.
- He hands her the cup with its delicious aroma. Just like his perfume. The boss is wearing a black suit that matches his hair color and a sky-blue tie that perfectly matches his eyes. How can he be so handsome? Allyson sighs.
- "I hope this helps." It's a mystery why Allyson is so scattered, considering her office pays well. Peter would like to know why his law clerk is so tired... He hasn't fired her yet because she's a gift to his eyes. "And don't let it happen again, Miss Mitchell."
- The beautiful girl's eyes stare back at him.
- "Never again, Mr. Fletcher."
- Allyson takes the cup from her boss's hand, obviously shaking a little. The panic of being fired has taken hold of her, but it's no greater than the feelings he's causing her. He walks away and returns to his office, as imposing and important as ever. Allyson stops sighing and takes a generous sip of her hot coffee, trying to understand how she could have fallen asleep sitting down. Isn't that for old people? She's only 26! How could she? She knows she must be very tired.
- Suddenly she sees Lisa pull her chair aside and look at her. Her computer is facing away from hers on the desk across from her.
- "He came here... " Lisa says, "just to wake you up and didn't fire you?"
- "Stop it, Lisa."
- "I think you're getting promoted, Allyson!" her colleague begins to laugh, "Promoted to cleaner!"
- Allyson frowns at Lisa.
- "Just kidding, girl. We have to keep an eye on him, he can see everything from this room. You're not kidding, Allyson.
- "I know, Lisa, stop bothering me, I have to finish the contract."
- Lisa pulls her chair back into position and Allyson glances discreetly into Fletcher's office. He moves his head quickly as if to look at her. How strange... He really does take care of everything... She has to concentrate on her work or she could be out of a job!
- It's 17:14. Everyone has left, but the intern hasn't finished writing the contract. She'll be late for the Venus Club. But there's still one person in the office, and that's Fletcher on the phone. He's working tirelessly. Allyson moves her head again and sees that there are two paragraphs left. Only two paragraphs to go. Just then, she hears her boss's office door close and sees him coming out of the corner of her eye. This is it. She's getting fired.
- "What's up, sleepyhead?" he jokes. "Did you finish that contract I need?
- She purses her lips and frowns.
- "One paragraph to go, sir."
- "Good, I'll wait here."
- He pulls his cell phone out of his pocket and starts texting someone. His proximity doesn't help her at all. She loses her concentration with that perfume and that strong presence. She tries to put his face out of her mind, but his strong features, the shape of his thick lips, and his close-cropped beard keep running through her mind. At that moment, Allyson closes her eyes, forcing herself to forget in order to concentrate. Listening to the noise of her cell phone's alerts is obviously distracting her. She finishes the last few lines and adds her digital signature at the end to finally save the document.
- "Done, sir."
- "Perfect. Send it to my email."
- Peter watches as she hits the keys on the keyboard, saves the file, and sends it to his email address. He hopes he sent it correctly, because she is very distracted. Allyson puts her things in her bag and finishes her work on the computer, but suddenly feels a hand on my shoulder again.
- “Good work, Mitchell.” Peter says approvingly.
- Allyson slowly turns her head up to look at him and his eyes stare at her. He smiles without his teeth and with his eyes clenched shut, as if he's not in the mood, and finally leaves. As soon as she finishes putting her things together, she sees that her boss is slowly moving away and his eyes are focused on his work materials. As soon as she looks at him again, she notices that his muscles show beneath his tailored suit. Of course, he has a tailored suit, he's rich, she thinks. He must have his own tailor.
- Let go of that look, Allyson... She thinks to herself.
- It's going to slow me down the way I'm going about things. Peter has already gone down the elevator. I'd love to go with him, to smell his perfume one more time. Hearing one last goodnight from him would be comforting. To have someone to care about at least a little. The young woman frantically pushes the elevator button and waits for him, but inside her bag, she hears her cell phone ring. She searches for it in the mess and quickly answers it. It was Margot, her colleague at Venus.
- “Girl, where are you?” She didn't even say good night. “You're coming, right?
- “I will, I will... “ She yawns softly.
- “Ouch, ouch... Don't sleep on the bus here.”
- Allyson hangs up the phone as I reach the first floor. I really don't want to miss the bus or its stop. She runs looking at the ground and her heels, she can't twist her ankles at this point. That would be bad for her performance. At the door, she sees Peter Fletcher getting into his car. And he sees her too. With a final wave, he says goodbye to Allyson and knows that he won't see this man again until tomorrow. He must think she's some kind of clown, sleeping in the office and waving awkwardly at him. He speeds up his car and loses sight of it in the traffic. In the distance, Allyson's bus turns the corner and comes to the stop.
- Allyson sits on the last empty seat of the bus and reaches into her bag for her study materials. The next few weeks will be exams and she doesn't want to, and can't, get bad marks. On the way to Venus, reading an article would help refresh her memory of the subject. Allyson already feels nervous just being in the same office as Fletcher, and to make matters worse, he makes a point of showing that he controls everything and everyone. A bit annoying. Irritatingly charming. She smiles to herself.
- It's 5:55pm. Allyson should be at Venus at 17:50. She bites her lip nervously. Is she in danger of being fired from another job? She quickly presses the little yellow button, indicating that she wants to get off the vehicle. The driver promptly stops at the point she wants.
- The dark blue neon sign out front glows and illuminates the dark street. It's already 6 p.m. sharp and the sun is almost out of the sky. On the small street, a car catches the eye. Allyson knows that car, she just can't remember where. She shakes her head, forcing herself to forget the idea, and goes through a side door into an even smaller alley. I enter through the back door, panting and nervous. Margot is tapping her feet inside.
- “What's wrong?” She lowers her head. I'm expecting a scolding.
- “ 18:01 Allyson... “ Margot scolds her.
- “Just ten minutes.”
- Inside the little broom room, where we girls call the Suite, she starts to change. She take the clothes out of the closet and dress in character. Very sexy and daring. The lingerie is pink, which matches the costume tonight. It's going to be a long night and Allyson hopes it will make much money. Oh, and of course.
- On the street, when people enter the club, Peter Fletcher sees his beautiful trainee enter the strip club and his mouth drops open.
- It was just an ordinary night when he decided to go out to distract his mind by looking at girls. Work is tiring and boring enough in the office during the week. He wasn't going out with Jennifer any more, so he could have as much fun as he liked, with no strings attached.
- Then, as he entered the side of the nightclub, his boss saw the most unusual figure coming through the back door, hiding his face a little. Mitchell? That student who works for your office, drafting contracts? Impressive! He can't wait to see what she's doing there. A smile immediately appears on his face. The evening has started to get very interesting.
