Chapter 3
- Victoria thought that she would no longer feel heartache for Austin, but she was wrong. At that moment, she felt that it was difficult to breathe as if her heart were clenched by a hand.
- She still cared about him because Austin had been in her heart for so long, and she had loved him so deeply. She still had feelings for him even after five years.
- "You should know about the Lawsons' current position and wealth. That's the height you can only look up to, and I'll become Austin's wife. People will envy me." Kaylin smiled even more complacently.
- Grace pretended to be annoyed as she looked at Kaylin.
- "Why are you telling her this? Right now, the Lawson family has no relationship with her any longer. They still have a grudge against her for running away from the wedding!"
- Victoria looked at the two hypocritical women as they bragged about their relationship with the Lawson family. The Lawson family was indeed one of the richest families in the country. Even the Marquez family wouldn't be able to match up to them. However, no matter how rich the Lawson family was, what did it have to do with Victoria?
- "Don't worry, I won't envy you. Since you will get married to Austin, I wish you all the best."
- Victoria said these words coldly, completely sounding like a curse.
- Kaylin knew what Victoria meant and her facial expression changed.
- "Victoria, don't be too complacent. When I marry Austin, you'll know what kind of life I'll live. When that happens, you'll probably cry because you're jealous of me!"
- "There won't be such a day." Victoria snorted coldly.
- At the back of the hall, a small figure clenched his small fists in anger. He did go for a walk with Desmond, but Desmond had to answer an important call, so he came back. He didn't know that he would see Victoria being bullied. The little guy bit his thin lip as an idea popped into his mind.
- 'I'm gonna find Dad! As long as he's here, Mommy won't suffer this again!'
- The little guy clenched his fists. He had to find his father to protect his mother as soon as possible.
- After having lunch, Victoria brought Franklin to meet her good friend, Betty Bates, since she didn't want Franklin to live with Grace and Kaylin.
- Her good friend, Betty had now become a popular actress after working hard in the entertainment industry for five years. She owned a very cozy apartment, and she had just woken up when Victoria arrived.
- "Betty!" Franklin called her in a sweet voice.
- Betty hugged him and kissed him.
- "Dear Franklin, I miss you so much."
- "Betty? What kind of life are you living? How come you just got up?"
- "I was reciting the lines the whole night. I was too tired to get up. Come in."
- "Have you eaten anything yet?"
- "Nope!"
- "Is there anything to eat at home?"
- "Instant noodles, snacks ... and frozen dumplings."
- Victoria looked at her and shook her head.
- "I'll cook some dumplings for you! Don't starve yourself, or your stomach will hurt."
- Betty held Franklin on the sofa, kissed his cheeks again, and said to Victoria, "Since you cook lunch for me, I'll take care of your son."
- "You should take care of yourself."
- "I don't have a son, so I don't mind living such an irregular life. If I do, I won't be this crazy. But again, Victoria, how did you give birth to such a handsome boy? He's even more handsome than those men in the show biz. He's going to get women crazy for him in the future."
- "Godmother, what do you mean?" Franklin was puzzled.
- Victoria glared at Betty and warned, "You're not allowed to misguide my son. It means that you are handsome and good-looking. That's why Betty thinks that there will definitely be a large group of girls around like you in the future."
- "I don't want them! I only want Mommy."
- Betty giggled and asked, "What about me? You don't want me anymore?"
- Franklin quickly put his arms around her neck.
- "I want you, too!"
- Betty was satisfied.
- "That's my boy!"
- When Victoria was cooking in the kitchen, Betty crossed her arms and was about to speak to Victoria in private.
- Franklin was holding a remote control of the TV, looking for his favorite channel, but suddenly he stopped and heard a host's standard news voice saying, "We are waiting for you with special skills. As long as you are no younger than four years old and have a skill, you can come to the competition. We will be waiting here for your talented child to shine on the stage. We are also looking for the most unique child in the world. Come! We welcome your participation. Please dial us!"
- Franklin stared at the phone number on the screen and quickly memorized it. He then found the pen and paper next to him and wrote it down completely.
- He picked up Betty's phone and dialed the number.
- "Hello, may I help you?" It was a voice with a smile at the other end. "Hello, I'd like to sign up for the competition."
- "Great! May I ask how old are you? What kind of special skills do you have?"
- "I'm 4 years old. I have passed the piano test of Level 6. Am I qualified for it?"
- "You are only four years old and already have passed the piano test of Level 6? That's great! Do you want to sign up for our competition?"
- "Yes, I want to sign up for it. Is that OK?"
- "Of course. Can you please let your parents answer the phone?"
- Franklin raised his head and saw Betty looking at him with her arms crossed. She had also heard about the competition, but she didn't expect that he would be interested in it.
- When Franklin saw Betty, he immediately laughed, "Mommy, come and answer the phone!"
- Betty was stunned for a few seconds, but then she knew that there was someone on the other end of the line. She quickly sat down and answered the phone, "Hello. Hello, may I ask if you are the mother of that boy?"
- "Ah... Yes, I am."
- "Your child is four years old. Does he have passed the piano test of Level 6?"
- "Yes, he is talented and good at playing the piano."
- "Then can you bring him here to register? We welcome him very much."
- "Alright! When?"
- "Better this afternoon because our registration deadline is 12 o'clock tonight."
- "Alright! I'll take him over this afternoon." After Betty finished her words, she hung up the phone and seriously looked at Franklin.
- "Are you sure you want to sign up for it?"
- "Yes! I want to sign up for it!" Franklin nodded his head firmly.
- "You're sure that you can pass the piano test of Level 6?" She was astonished!
- "Of course!"
- "Your mom has just passed the piano test of level eight." Betty didn't quite believe it.
- At this moment, Victoria walked out of the kitchen with dumplings in her hands. "Don't underestimate him. Franklin is indeed a pianist at the sixth level."
- "OMG! He is indeed a prodigy! Alright, I'll bring you to register this afternoon."
- "No. You are a popular star. If you go to the television station, you will definitely cause chaos. I'll bring him there!"
- "Mommy, do you really agree to my participation?" Franklin didn't expect her mom to agree.
