Chapter 1499 I Didn't Mean What I Said

  • The passing of notes ended with Jiang Yu's accusation, and the tension between him and Ling Xiyu resumed. She was furious, and she could not pay attention to the lesson at all. She proceeded to flip the pages of her textbook so loudly and forcefully that her classmates turned to shoot her curious looks. However, she couldn't care less about the disturbance she was creating, and she went on to take her anger out on the book.
  • Meanwhile, Jiang Yu was equally frustrated when he heard her turning the pages loudly as though to make her anger known. He hadn't planned on writing that sentence, and he was admittedly delighted that Ling Xiyu had taken the initiative to speak to him. However, he resented her for going out on dates with Nangong Yue for the past two days even though he knew that she had only done so to spite him.
  • The bell rang cheerily to signify the end of class, but the teacher droned on as he stood on the lectern, and it wasn't until after he had taken up three minutes of their precious morning break that he finally left the room. As soon as he stepped out of the door, the students all grumbled about him.
