• Valerie's POV
• I trudged through the woods, my eyes scanning the ground for any sign of the triplets. I couldn't let myself get distracted, not even by Rohan's piercing gaze. I'd been trying to avoid him all day, but it seemed like the universe had other plans.
• As I walked, my foot caught on a hidden root and I felt myself falling. But before I could hit the ground, Rohan's arms were around me, pulling me close. "Got you," he whispered, his voice low and husky.
