• I watched Valerie pace back and forth in her room, her mind racing with questions. I knew she was getting frustrated, and I couldn't blame her. But I also knew that she needed to be pushed, to be tested.
• That's why I decided to take her to the battlefield. I knew she wasn't ready, that she was still weak and uncertain. But I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to start her training, and I needed to do it now.
