Chapter 31

• We were sprawled out across the blanket-covered carpet, bellies full from the food Dani had wrapped for us. An expensive bottle of wine sat nearby, two half-filled glasses beside it, as we gazed out at the waterfall. Its mist caught the fading light, turning it into something magical, and the gentle sound echoed—peaceful and constant.
• Joss moved closer, wrapping an arm around me from behind, spooning me. His elbow was propped on the ground, his head resting in his palm so that his face hovered just above mine.
• “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” he asked softly.
