Chapter 7 Not Honeymoons

  • Danas was silent and didn't answer. "Danas," Melvin called. This time his voice was a little higher.
  • All women want to be adored, to be pampered, why am I suffering this fate. Was I wrong to want a caring husband?! All women want the same thing. But, I have to throw all those wishes away, for me to hope for that to happen is just futile.
  • Danas' eyes lined up with Melvin's hazel ones, then moved closer to her husband.
  • She knew that he was maintaining an image, but it made her heart ache. Melvin's pretense cut deep into her heart. It wasn't sincerity when they were intimate, but everything was fake.
  • Melvin who cares, is a fake. The smiling and warm Melvin is a fake.
  • Seeing Danas' slow steps, the man immediately pulled the girl's hand and made her sit on his lap.
  • “I sat in my seat, alone.”
  • Melvin tightened his embrace. "Be a good girl, sit quietly. You thought I would hug you like this, I don't want them to think anything of me," Melvin whispered.
  • There was pain when her own husband said that to her, even though she knew it was just an act, but it still hurt when Melvin said it.
  • She clenched her hands tightly, trying to stay strong. She couldn't tell how much pain she was harboring inside, accepting all of that man's treatment. Their marriage was only a week old, but she couldn't stand what was happening to her life.
  • Sitting on Melvin's lap, made her body tense up a little, she was afraid that if she made a mistake, it would make her husband angry.
  • A hand wrapped around her waist, making her body tense up even more. She had never felt this close to Melvin. Being in that man's arms scared her.
  • ""I won't be harsh with you, don't make everyone here look weird at us," Melvin whispered.
  • Not a word came out of Danas' mouth, the girl chose to remain silent, and smiled. Every now and then Melvin would engage her in some small talk, then return to silence.
  • Pretending to smile, it was so painful.
  • The long and tiring journey made her unconsciously lean against Melvin's field chest, slowly the girl fell asleep. The man momentarily glanced at his wife who had fallen asleep on his lap.
  • The girl was sleeping soundly, as if nothing had happened. Melvin looked at Danas' sleeping face.
  • "Pretty, but I don't intend to be nice to her," he thought.
  • The scent of mint and vanilla from Danas' body made him unconsciously hug the girl on his lap. He didn't even realize that he was addicted to the scent of Danas' body.
  • "I can't lie, if the scent of her body calms me down," he thought.
  • Danas who was on his lap fell asleep with her sleeping husband while holding him.
  • The ceiling of the room with a man lying beside her was faintly visible.
  • "Oh, my God. Has it arrived in Germany yet?" she asked herself while getting out of bed.
  • Her eyes roamed the room, followed by footsteps that were investigating each room.
  • "Apparently, this is an apartment.” Danas thought.
  • He looked for his bag, but couldn't find it.
  • "I have to take a bath, before he woke up" she muttered as she stepped into the bathroom.
  • She washed his face with water first, while staring intently at the glass in front of her.
  • The reflection of her face in the glass made her feel sorry for herself. She should have been the happiest person, able to get married but this wasn't the kind of marriage she wanted.
  • Ceklek
  • The bathroom door opened, allowing Danas to see that Melvin was behind him at the moment. For a moment their eyes were in a straight line, realizing Melvin's arrival made his reverie break and quickly passed from there.
  • She didn't do much that morning, sitting down to eat the breakfast that had been served, with her husband gone who knows where. Sometimes she would walk out on the balcony to see the view outside.
  • "Madam," called Rangga making the girl turn her head to the origin of the voice calling her. "Madam, aren't you bored here?" the man asked.
  • Danas sighed softly.
  • "You've been working with him for a long time, right?" Danas asked Rangga.
  • The man nodded his head. Danas leaned his body on the balcony railing, looking up at the man in front of him.
  • "So, do you know why he hates?" asked Danas quietly.
  • Rangga frowned, not believing he would get such a question from the woman who was now the wife of his boss.
  • "I-it's because-"
  • The girl hoped to get an answer as to why her husband hated her so much, Melvin's reason for saying she was a murderer.
  • Ddzz...
  • Rangga grabbed the cell phone from his pocket, then looked at Danas.
  • "Sorry, ma'am. I have to take this call," the man said and left.
  • He didn't get an answer when the words of the man in front of him had to be cut off by a phone call.
  • "Huh!" A long sigh, while enjoying the view of Melvin that would be dark by then. Without friends, without someone to make him feel alone.
  • Melvin Germany at that time, looked beautiful, and seemed so spacious to himself. Her husband went nowhere after leaving her. Abandoned was probably the right word for him.
  • What kind of honeymoon, leaving her partner behind. In fact, it was very far from a honeymoon, more precisely, this time was not a honeymoon.
  • Check!
  • The door to the room opened, revealing Melvin returning home no longer as neatly dressed as when he came out. The buttons on his clothes were undone, and missing.
  • A knock sounded.
  • "You..."
  • Danas looked at Rangga who was at the door of their room, while carving a smile.
  • "What's going on?"
  • "Mister drinks enough alcohol."
  • Danas grabbed the athletic body, making him shake his hand as he smelled the alcohol from his husband's body.
  • "Why did he drink so much," Danas complained as she laid her husband on the bed.
  • She took off her shoes and socks.
  • The girl looked at the unconscious Melvin, then turned to stare intently at Rangga, then closed the door to the room from outside.
  • "Tell me what actually happened to me."
  • "It-it is."
  • "Rangga..." Danas' voice sounded intimidating to the man in front of him at the moment.
  • "We'd better talk elsewhere, ma'am."
  • "Alright, let's go to the cafeteria."
  • Danas took a step slowly. "Madam, the cafeteria is not that way, but this way."
  • The girl turned her body to look at Rangga. "Ah, that way, yes."
  • Her footsteps followed the man who was her husband's assistant, no one made a sound as they were inside the elevator. Rangga led Danas to a table and ordered a drink.
  • "So, tell me everything you know," Danas said while looking at Rangga. "What brings him here?"
  • "Actually, sir came here to look for Miss Renata."
  • "Re-renata?" she asked.
  • She was surprised to hear that name.
  • "Who is Renata?"
  • "Renata is Master's girlfriend."
  • Danas' eyes rounded, she didn't know if Melvin had a girlfriend, if that was the case she married Melvin because Melvin's girlfriend left?
