Chapter 5 Melvin's Rage In The Office

  • "Did you get any information on Renata's whereabouts?" asked Melvin with his eyes glaring at Rangga.
  • Melvin's question made his assistant stop his footsteps to grab Melvin's suit to tidy up.
  • "No, I haven't found Ms. Renata's whereabouts. The last time I found her was in Germany, but after I sent someone there, she wasn't there."
  • "I don't want to know, you have to find her."
  • Rangga stared at the back of his superior, there was a sense of pity from him. To him Melvin was a perfect man, having everything, yet the man failed in love when his superior was abandoned a week before the wedding, and was forced to marry the girl he hated the most.
  • "I've checked that there is no name of Miss Renata out of the country. I'll send some people to look for her."
  • There was no response from his superior.
  • Melvin chose to sit on the chair he leaned his body on, then massaged his head, feeling uncomfortable with his current position, making him change his position, bending his hands on the table, then massaging his head again.
  • There was pain there felt by him, because of too much thinking. The only thing he could think of was his girlfriend who suddenly disappeared for no reason, not even giving him any news at all.
  • "Where are you going, Renata,” he muttered softly.
  • The girl's departure, made his head constantly ache, coupled with the presence of Danas who had now become his wife. Many times he had complained, sometimes cursing at God who was so unfair to him.
  • As a man who was by Melvin's side, Rangga understood a little of the suffering the man was going through.
  • "Would you like me to make a cup of coffee?"
  • There was no answer, only a nod of the head given by the man.
  • Rangga brought Melvin a cup of coffee, as well as some snacks and breakfast, knowing that the man never had breakfast at home, opting for breakfast at the office.
  • Ceklek!
  • His eyes rounded, seeing what was happening in the room. Several people were standing. In front of them was Melvin who was sitting at the desk.
  • "What kind of report is this? Can't you make a report properly? Do you think I'm paying you to play around, and you're giving me this kind of rubbish report?" Melvin snapped while crossing his arms over his chest.
  • The cold gaze of his hazel eyes seemed ready to pounce on the few people in front of him.
  • No one dared to open their voice, especially when the man was emotional. They would keep quiet, and accept all the anger. Opening their voices would mean losing their jobs, while there were many people who wanted to work for Melvin's company.
  • "Repeat, nine o'clock deadline.”
  • There was no answer, making Melvin furrow his brow. "Do you understand?" he asked sternly, making the few people in front of him startled.
  • "Yes sir, we understand," the team leader stammered.
  • "If you understand, what are you waiting for? You're going to be here all day? Huh?" snapped Melvin.
  • "N-no sir, we'll excuse ourselves."
  • Rangga who saw that could only sigh softly. Who knows how many more people his boss would anger today.
  • Melvin returned to his seat, pulled his sleeves up to his elbows, picked up the ballpoint pen located on the right side, then picked up the file.
  • The man read it briefly, then put his signature on it.
  • Tuk!
  • Rangga put down the coffee cup he had brought, so quickly Melvin's hand grabbed the cup and took a sip.
  • After enjoying Rangga's coffee, Melvin finished the paperwork he had to sign.
  • "You'd better eat first." Rangga warned the workaholic.
  • "No, I'm not hungry yet." Melvin refused.
  • Seeing his stubborn boss, made him immediately close the laptop that was in front of Melvin.
  • "Rangga, what are you doing? Can't you see I'm working?" asked Melvin in a slightly high tone, there was emotion there.
  • "I know you're working, sir. But, your body needs food intake, to make you work. If you don't eat-"
  • "Give me my food," Melvin instantly cut off Rangga's words. "If I don't eat, you'll keep offering me food, and you're the only one who dares to lecture me?"
  • "I just -"
  • "Just give me my food."
  • Rangga could only sigh softly, his boss was not only stubborn, there was a workaholic, when dealing with work it would make the man forget about time and food.
  • After eating, Melvin went back to his work, while Rangga sat at his desk but could see his boss because his desk was only separated by glass from Melvin's room.
  • When some time passed, Rangga knocked on the glass door and entered Melvin's room.
  • "The division heads have gathered in the meeting room."
  • Hearing that, Melvin got up from his seat, put on his uniform, and stepped out.
  • The meeting room, which had been noisy, fell silent at Melvin's presence in the room.
  • The room began to darken, and someone was seen giving an explanation, with the help of a projector the man explained in great detail, while Melvin read what the man was explaining.
  • "Is your concept so conservative like this? Can't you make something new, and sell it?"
  • Everyone fell silent when they heard Melvin's voice commenting on the concept being explained.
  • "Changing artists, creating a new brand. What the hell, are your ideas limited to this?" he snapped.
  • There were so many people in the room whose ages were far above his, but no one dared to open their voice to reprimand or comment on the man.
  • "If your performance is like this, I will not hesitate to replace your position with someone else who is worthy."
  • Everyone in the room instantly opened their voices.
  • "Please don't fire us, we'll come up with a different concept than this."
  • A sharp glare was given by him to the people in front of him.
  • "Give me what you promised me, otherwise you'll have to carry all your belongings out of this company,"
  • The man got up from his seat and walked away.
  • There were only faces full of worry visible, some were cursing the man who had just walked out.
  • "Why does he always take it out on us," someone grumbled.
  • Rangga felt sorry for those in the room. The tired faces were clearly visible, but even he couldn't do anything about it.
  • His footsteps accelerated, following Melvin from behind, the iPad in his hand not left behind. Every now and then he adjusted his glasses.
  • Ddzzz ... Ddzzz ... Ddzzz ... Ddzzz ... Ddzzz ...
  • Rangga's cell phone vibrated making him stop and immediately reach into the pocket of the suit he was wearing.
  • Seeing the message he received made him round his eyes.
  • "I found Ms. Renata!" Rangga exclaimed.
  • His words instantly stopped Melvin's footsteps.
