Chapter 13 Fallen Guard

• Leah slowly turned around to face the door, and there he was. Damian was already inside the room, already staring at her with those same burning eyes filled with rage.
• She sat up, even though her body felt like it was breaking apart. She used her elbows to hold herself up and ignored the pain in her arms and back. She was still terrified but she didn’t look away. She stared right back at him, her eyes full of challenge.
• But as she stared longer, her thoughts began to blur. Even though he looked so scary like he could destroy everything in one second, there was something about him that made it hard to look away. His face was so perfect, like it was carved from stone. Every features looked almost too flawless to be real.
