Chapter 68 “I'm Keeping It”

• Catherine paced the floor of her apartment. She had thought about this for a while but finally got the courage to do it. He didn’t give her a straight answer. His evasiveness said it all, Donovan had cheated on her. With both hands fixed behind her, she continued her repetitive walk. Donovan had gone to work so she had the apartment all to herself.
• Her heart was slowly breaking. Even after three weeks she couldn’t get his response out of her head. Since then, she hadn’t been comfortable and he knew it. She wouldn’t let him touch her, even when he smile at her she responded with a wry smile.
• He kept receiving calls each day. When she asked who it was, he would say it was work. He was clever enough to edit the name of the caller each time to match his employees or colleagues. If she hadn’t have answered the call that day, she wouldn’t have been able to guess that it was Lily.
