Chapter 9 THE SUMMONER

• The door closes behind him, and she knows it’s time to look around. Axel isn’t here, so the mansion is free for her to roam. “How should we start?”, she asks her familiar. “I believe finding the corresponding books on summoning is a good way”. She agrees and she is going upstairs to search. “Do you think the books will be in the library, or hidden from me in his office?”.
• “There’s only one way to find out”, he answers and they go inside the library. It’s vast, with hundreds of books in each section. “A lot of ground to cover”, he says, looking around in awe. “Or not”, she whispers, seeing a section with the corner of her eye. She feels drawn to it, hypnotized almost. She lets this calling take her where she needs to go, approaching this dark corner of the library. “It’s locked”, Deathclaws notices the big chains with the lock in the middle, magically preventing anyone from entering. Though this won’t stop her, she reaches with her finger, and its touch makes the chain see-through, allowing her to pass. As she looks around, the books look dark with symbols on the front, being coded. “This one”, she says pointing at a book with a symbol ⧪.
• As she grabs it, she feels sheer energy through her body. “That’s definitely it”.
