Chapter 1 The Awakening

  • Eve is humming a song that she has never heard before. She is lying down on her bed, looking at the ceiling. Today she has a weird feeling that she can’t shake off. A breeze makes her shiver.
  • “The wind has changed”.
  • She is playing with her hair, dreaming. Her thoughts get interrupted by none other by Lola and some other girls. They like to bully Eve and she is stuck with them.
  • “Weirdo, what are you doing?” Lola teases her. Eve rolls her eyes, trying to ignore her.
  • “Hey, I am talking to you!” she grabs a pillow and throws it at her. Eve stands up and tries to leave the room but they block her way.
  • “What do you want?” Eve tries to get this over with.
  • “We are bored, entertain us”.
  • Eve rolls her eyes once more, being really annoyed and not in the mood.
  • “Look, I feel you but today isn’t a good day”. Eve means that. She feels a storm coming and it seems to make her sweat.
  • The girls start laughing, not caring. “Oh my, is this your weird ‘psychic’ abilities again?”.
  • They make fun of her since a lot of times Eve could sense stuff. Everytime she would try to get them across, the girls would laugh at her and the nuns would shut her off. But, just ignores their comments and tries to avoid them, even when they won’t let go. As she pushes forward to pass, Lola throws her back, tossing her down. Her body makes a loud sound hitting the floor.
  • “That will bruise”.
  • She tries to stand up but she gets pushed back.
  • “I can’t, not anymore”.
  • She is angry, she won’t let this slide. They laugh at her, the nuns do nothing as they believe she is the devil and she is all she’s got.
  • She looks up at Lola. She gives her the death stare but that doesn’t stop Lola from trying to keep her down. She feels it coming, an urge from inside, trying to reach outside. Lola freezes, like someone has put a spell on her, a curse that will not yield. She can’t move, run, or hide, but only stand there, terrified.
  • The girls are horrified and start crying, but Eve hasn’t still realized what the issue is. As they take some steps back, they run down the stairs, calling for help from the nuns. Eve finally stands up, examining Lola’s frozen body. Even though she isn’t sure what’s happening, deep down she knows she is the reason behind it, and that brings an evil satisfaction to her.
  • But as she hears the nuns approaching, she tries to run away.
  • “Where are you going, devil!” a nun shouts.
  • Cold sweat has covered her whole body but she knows she has to leave. She pushes the handle and opens the door, promptly leaving the house.
  • “How did things turn out this way?”.
  • She is running in the field, trying to find the road that seems so far away. Big black clouds circling above in the sky that a second ago were shiny.
  • “The storm” she is frightened.
  • A strong wind prevents her from moving forward and she feels something terrible is coming her way. She looks back, thinking of going to the house. The nuns are waiting for her, but something is off. Their eyes are bright red, they have big fangs and saliva is dripping from their mouths.
  • “What the actual hell”.
  • It looks like she is being cornered; the wind won’t allow her to proceed, pushing her back no matter how much strength she puts forward. She is losing ground, getting closer to the claws of the nuns. Rain starts coming down making the ground unsteady. They throw their hands forward, trying to claw her, but a deep eerie voice brings her comfort, saying, “Don’t be frightened, let go”.
  • She clenches her fists, trying to push back. A lightning hits the ground, throwing her on the floor, creating a roaring sound and a ringing that almost bursts her ear drums. From the smokes, a tall figure appears. He has long white hair and is covered in light, looking like an angel. He approaches her and suddenly feels safe.
  • “Sorry for that, I had to be fast. It will all be over soon” he says with a gentle voice, bringing her comfort.
  • “Amon, can’t show yourself? Too weak?” he speaks to the nuns, now looking like demon-spawns. “You tried to hide her, yet I’ve always known what you don’t” they say in one voice. “I guess it’s time I take her where she belongs, and that’s not with you”.
  • The man raises his hand and hail falls from the sky. Eve is keeping her head down, but it seems that they were all aiming at them. A big explosion follows in the aftermath, as the target of his Magic was the orphanage. She is in shock, still on the ground, with the fire spreading around, lighting up the sky. She can’t move, she is blown away from the events.
  • The tall man comes her way, and she tries to move back, scared of him. “It’s okay, I got you”. He waves his hand, and just like that, she loses consciousness.
  • Dream-Eve’s POV
  • “I’ve been here before, or at least I’ve seen this again. Women dressed in white robes around an amethyst crystal. They are chanting something, but I can’t understand what they are saying. Am I just an observer? It seems that a ritual is taking place. Beautiful smells have filled the room and the women start dancing. Suddenly, someone in chains is brought in. She looks beautiful but sad. They place her in front of the crystal and have her go down on her knees. And as she has a begging face, a hooded figure approaches her with a dagger. She places it at her neck, saying, “Let the corrupt die and the innocent be born” and like that, she slices her throat”.
