Chapter 25 A Dead Town

• Liam had set a clever trap by pouring gasoline on the stairs and then baiting the infected to climb up the staircase. Despite feeling no pain, they burned just the same, and the fire spread across the whole police station, suffocating the rest with its thick, black smoke.
• However, by setting the lower floors ablaze, Liam had cut off their only escape route, leaving them stranded on the rooftop.
• “What have you done?” Nora gasped as she backed away from the door, her terrified gaze fixed on the burning staircase. “It was our only way out. Now, we’re trapped in here. The fire’s going to spread and burn the whole building down!” she exclaimed in a panic-stricken voice.
