Chapter 16 Awake

• Oaklynn and I had a late lunch at Remy’s, her favorite French restaurant that was owned and run by one of my close friends, Remy Le Roux. We were served a five-course meal that included an appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert.
• The place was busy as usual, and Remy had only come out once to greet us and disappeared back to the kitchen. We sat out on the garden terrace, which Lynn preferred because she liked to feel the breeze and sun on her face while she ate. She also liked the sound of the fountain and the tranquil atmosphere. She did most of the talking throughout the meal, while I sweated buckets, watching her dig into her food as she told me about her day and our upcoming trip. Which might not happen after today.
