Chapter 6 I Give Him My Soul
- "Sir..." she murmurs so perfectly that it provokes dark thoughts in Sebastian.
- She closes her eyes, and the worst part is that he can hear her slow breathing.
- Sebastian continues to climb, and when he touches the injured part, she winces.
- "You should have said something earlier. Blisters will form. It's best that I take you home," he says, touching her gently, but the burn is a bit higher, almost reaching the girl's intimacy.
- "Sir... please, stop," she pleads, still with her eyes closed, and spits. No man had ever provoked her as much as Sebastian Parrow.
- Because of the way she begged him, Sebastian feels uncomfortable, withdraws his hand, and regains his composure.
- Anastasia's breathing is erratic. She is unable to look him in the eyes, her cheeks flushed red.
- The atmosphere becomes tense, so when Leandro arrives, it is a perfect distraction.
- "I bought the best. You need to clean the burn and then apply this twice a day. Repeat the same process," Leandro says, handing the cream to Anastasia.
- "Sir, thank you very much," Sebastian says, but Leandro doesn't respond. He is so serious that his gaze is cold and ruthless.
- She sighs and looks at Leandro. "Thank you, Mr. Leandro."
- "Don't worry. Just take care of yourself. Boss, should I take her home or follow your instructions?" Leandro asks.
- "Sir, I'm fine. Please, take them with you," Anastasia requests.
- "To the company," Sebastian orders.
- Anastasia salivates at the thought. She wants to be useful to Sebastian so that he will give her the money she needs for her mother's treatment.
- When they arrive at the company, it's far from what she expected. The beauty lies in the countryside that surrounds it—the vineyard harvest, the long hectares, and the many workers.
- Leandro parks. Sebastian already knows they have arrived.
- "Leandro, you know what to do," Sebastian says cryptically, and Leandro nods.
- "If you need anything, let me know, although I think Anastasia will be enough from now on. With your permission," Leandro says, looking at Anastasia with a kind smile.
- The girl looks at him for a moment, but when she turns to look at Sebastian, he is gone. He had already taken a few steps, and the girl runs after him to catch up.
- "If you liked him so much, you should have gone with him," Sebastian says arrogantly.
- "I don't like Mr. Leandro."
- "If that's the case, I don't care," he replies grumpily.
- "Sir, for someone so handsome, you're very bitter," she says sincerely, and Sebastian stops.
- "Can't you shut up? Are you always like this, talking all the time?" he asks, and she lowers her eyes.
- "I'm sorry, Mr. Parrow. I will only speak if necessary."
- Sebastian gestures in annoyance and continues on his way. Entering the company, Anastasia is shocked. Everything is so organized—the employees are well-dressed and polite, and the wines on display, the Parrow family's successes, intrigue her to learn more. But Sebastian continues on his way.
- She is amazed to see how the employees make way for Sebastian, looking at him with fear. Sebastian must have learned to project authority to maintain control over his employees, ensuring that due to their incompetence, they do not try to overstep him.
- When they arrive, he opens the door and enters, followed by Anastasia.
- "The bathroom is the brown door. Go in and do what you have to do. Don't take long."
- "Yes, sir," she replies quickly and heads to the bathroom.
- Meanwhile, Sebastian sits and waits impatiently.
- When Anastasia comes out, she feels great relief. Finally, she can at least walk without so much pain, although she is strong and could have endured longer.
- "I'm ready, sir. What do I need to do?" she asks, adopting a positive attitude.
- Someone knocks on the door. Anastasia turns to look.
- "Come in," Sebastian says authoritatively.
- "Good morning, Mr. Parrow," his secretary greets. The woman is beautiful.
- Anastasia steps aside to avoid interrupting the conversation.
- "How is the malolactic fermentation of the white wine going?"
- "Yes, sir. The white wine is wonderful, but the apple flavor is also ready. We have both available for you to approve, which will be the company's exclusive release, Mr. Parrow," Caseres speaks with elegance and professionalism. She does not look at Anastasia at all.
- "Bring them in," Parrow orders.
- Caseres heads to the door and opens it. A young, handsome, tall man enters, carrying a tray.
- "Good morning, Mr. Parrow," Oscar greets, but all Sebastian does is gesture for them to hurry up and approve what he wants to be their next flagship wine.
- Oscar approaches without meeting Sebastian's eyes and places each glass of wine on the desk.
- Anastasia approaches Sebastian, and at that moment, Caseres cannot help but glance at her. But Oscar—he thinks Anastasia is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
- "Anastasia," Sebastian calls, and she approaches.
- Caseres looks her up and down and can tell that she is poor.
- "I want you to taste all the wines," he orders, and she becomes nervous.
- "Sir, it's not my strong suit," she says.
- "Try them all," Parrow insists, and she has no choice but to obey. She picks up the first glass—the white sparkling wine—and brings it to her lips. She doesn’t know how to hold the glass with elegance like Parrow, and this intrigues Caseres, who wonders who this girl is. Caseres is Maria's friend—Parrow's ex-fiancée, the woman he loves.
- Anastasia tastes the wine.
- "Do you like it?" Parrow asks.
- "It's delicious, sir," she says sincerely.
- "Now, try the other one," he orders, and Caseres is furious. He doesn't understand why Parrow is giving Anastasia this priority.
- The girl obeys, picks up the other glass, and tastes it. For her, the flavor is not as good as the first.
- "Give me a concrete answer," Sebastian says.
- "Definitely the first wine," she says nervously.
- "Then that will be it. You know what to do, Caseres," Sebastian orders.
- "Sir, excuse me for contradicting you, but wouldn’t it be better if you tried it yourself? You are the expert. I wouldn’t want you to make a wrong choice and incur losses," Caseres says, looking at Anastasia with disdain.
- "Who do you think you are to give me orders?" Sebastian fumes, and Anastasia intervenes.
- "Sir, Miss Caseres is right. I have no experience in this field, and I don't want you to have problems," Anastasia says awkwardly.
- Sebastian Parrow frowns, angry, grabs his cane, and hits the floor twice in disgust.
- "Anastasia is my wife! Mrs. Parrow! If she says it's the highest quality wine, then it is."
- Caseres is shocked. According to Maria, she is his fiancée—how can Anastasia be his wife now? Caseres doesn't like this. She has always been silently in love with Parrow and had hoped to approach him through Maria.
- "I'm sorry, Mr. Parrow. I didn't know. Mrs. Maria—" Sebastian interrupts.
- "It's none of your business. Just do your job," he orders, and she silences herself.
- "Oscar, the tray," she commands, her tone a bit harsh.
- He nods and approaches but glances at Anastasia. Taking the tray, he leaves. Caseres looks at Anastasia once more, hatred in her eyes, then exits.
- "So that's the name of your ex-fiancée?" Ana asks, intrigued.
- This angers Sebastian.
- "This is the last time I tell you—don't stick your nose in my private life! Now bring me a double shot of whiskey," Sebastian orders. She nods and heads to the small minibar. He turns his chair with his back to her; Maria still haunts his thoughts.
- Anastasia rushes to do everything, and when she approaches, Sebastian is completely silent.
- "Here is your drink, Mr. Parrow. Is there anything else I can do for you?"
- "No one can do it."
- "If you help me treat my mother, I will give you my soul. I will be by your side until my death—or until you no longer want me. I will take care of you day and night."
- Sebastian turns around and reaches for the glass, but Anastasia carefully brings it closer so he can grab it. She watches as he drinks the bitter liquid, then sees him furrow his brow as the burning sensation hits his throat.
- "They are all the same. If I do what you ask, then you will run away. Who would want to be with a blind man like me?" Sebastian asks.
- "Your handicap does not take away from your intelligence and beauty, Mr. Parrow. We can both help each other."
- Anastasia is more innocent, affectionate, and very kind, which is why she feels a lot of empathy for Sebastian, even though he is such a beast.
- "Sir," she says, grasping Sebastian's free hand, and he furrows his brow.
