Chapter 4 Yes Sir, I Will Be Your Eyes
- "Leave us alone, Leandro," Sebastian orders.
- "With pleasure, Leandro Bustamante, right-hand man and friend of Sebastián," Leandro introduces himself enthusiastically.
- "Leandro!" Sebastian exclaims in an irritated tone.
- "Aye, sir." Leandro walks away, smiling.
- Anastasia didn't know what to say to him, nerves taking over when he put on that cold aura.
- "I will tell you what to do, and I will pay attention because I hate repeating myself. You must not enter my room without permission, you must not meddle in my private life, and even less have the audacity to give your opinion without me asking for it. What you must do is be aware of my diet, ensure that everything in my room is organized, and choose my wardrobe day by day. I will tell you the colors I like. You will accompany me to the company so that you’re available for anything I need. You will not work for anyone else, only for me."
- "Yes sir, I will be your eyes." Anastasia's response further embitters Sebastian's heart, reminding him of the miserable life he leads.
- "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't mean it in a bad way," she says quietly, knowing she messed up.
- "Something I want to tell you very clearly is that you should never behave seductively! I realize you are not my type, and never in your life look at me with pity! Understood?"
- She swallows hard. It would be very difficult not to notice Sebastian Parrow, even though his personality is that of a cruel man. Anastasia, a poor girl who has suffered a lot in her life, sees more of this man's harshness.
- "Don't worry, Mr. Parrow."
- "It's breakfast time," he informs. "What's good about our deal, from your part, is the payment and the benefits. You must eat next to me, so walk fast."
- "Yes, sir, as ordered."
- Arriving in the garden where Sebastian now eats, Anastasia is amazed by the beautiful view of the landscape.
- She feels a certain admiration for Sebastian because, despite his condition, he is portrayed as a normal human being.
- "Good morning, Mr. Parrow!" greets the maid, who always serves him breakfast.
- "Sara, this is Anastasia. From tomorrow, she will take care of my food and the farm. Everything she says will be done." Sara does not agree with her boss's decision.
- "As you ordered, boss."
- "Bring breakfast for both of us."
- Sara glances at Anastasia and then leaves, disgusted.
- Anastasia feels a little uncomfortable, her mother's health deteriorating more and more, not improving as she would like—cancer consuming her body. A tear falls on her cheek. She has not been lucky in life, not even to study, and then she lets out a deep sigh.
- And then, she looks at this man.
- Anastasia is lost in her thoughts but snaps back when she feels hot coffee spill on her legs.
- "Oh, it burns!" Anastasia complains.
- "I'm sorry, miss," Sara apologizes, but she smiles, sending shivers down Anastasia's spine, as if she were crazy.
- "What's going on?" Sebastian asks in an irritated tone.
- "I'm really sorry, boss. It's just that the coffee spilled on the lady, but it wasn't my intention." Sara smiles and places the rest of the breakfast on the table.
- Anastasia grabs some napkins to clean herself, her delicate skin burning.
- "Is it serious?"
- "I... Don't worry, Mr. Parrow, it's not serious. Please continue your breakfast," Anastasia asks.
- "If you wish, may I bring you something, miss, to relieve your pain?" Sara asks, her tone pretending genuine concern.
- "You are very kind, but I am fine," Anastasia replies, looking at her angrily.
- "Excuse me, Mr. Parrow," Sara says, looking at Anastasia once again with disbelief before leaving triumphantly.
- Anastasia continues to grab towels; it burns too much. When she sees the salt, she lifts her dress slightly and applies it, then rubs it in. She doesn't want to get a blister.
- "Okay?"
- "Yes, yes, sir," Anastasia replies, then looks at him as he grabs the cutlery and elegantly eats breakfast. She is shocked.
- "Can you stop staring at me? I hate when people do that," he mutters.
- "No, I'm not. I'm going to have breakfast."
- When the girl takes a bite, she accidentally spits out the food. The scrambled eggs are super salty. She grabs the orange juice and drinks it, but it is also salty. She can't believe this employee is a crazy maniac.
- "And now!?"
- "It's not that... I'm just having a bad time, sir," she lies and swallows heavily. He eats normally, indicating that his breakfast is perfect.
- The worst part is that Anastasia is hungry. She hasn't eaten since yesterday.
- "Sir, may I ask you a question?"
- He waves his hand for her to continue.
- "Why won't your ex-girlfriend marry you?"
- Sebastian drops his cutlery, the sound echoing, emphasizing the disgust her question has caused him.
- "What did I tell you?" he asks sharply.
- "Yes... Mind my own business."
- "Then do it!" he replies furiously.
- "Don't get angry, sir, I just... I wanted to know a little because we will be very close."
- "It's absurd! You will only be a substitute wife and my maid! Now, have your breakfast because you will have a lot of work to do."
- Anastasia is getting impatient, but she has to tell him.
- "Sir..."
- "What!?" he replies grumpily.
- "I know it's too soon... but could you please give me an advance? I really need it, sir."
- "How dare you ask? You have only been in my service for about an hour."
- "Sir... Please, it's important. I will do what you ask of me, but my mother's life is in danger. Please, I see that you are a millionaire, and it will be something so simple for you. I promise I will pay you back everything you give me. Even if you want me to do something more for you, I will do it, sir!"
- Anastasia desperately pleads.
- She needs to admit her mother to a private clinic.
