Chapter 9 An excited daughter-in-law

  • Aria whistled as she walked into the kitchen; she was so excited tonight that she decided to make dinner all by herself. The maids couldn’t be happier when they heard that they had been relieved of their duty for the evening.
  • Aria couldn’t contain her excitement with the latest developments, she couldn’t believe how a bad news had suddenly been the best thing to happen in her life. Triple J’s accident had made him into the man that she always wanted as a partner.
  • If he didn’t get in that accident, then she would have never known that he could be this caring, loving and respectful. Aria couldn’t explain how it happened but what she knew for certain was that the accident had changed Jimmy’s life completely.
  • He went from being an arrogant, rude, spoilt jerk to a very calm, respectful, humble and loving gentleman. Something had happened to him the day of the accident that caused a turn around in his life, changed him entirely to someone else. Even Rebecca couldn’t help but notice the change in his behavior, he never even fought with her anymore, even though she was always trying to get on his nerves.
  • Aria believed that it was the near death experience that changed his mind set and adjusted his attitude. Maybe he had realized that life was really too short to be the Villain when you can be the hero, he must have realized that life was so fragile that it could be taken at any time. He could have died in that accident and that would be the end of Triple J.
  • Maybe knowing that had made him realize who he needed to be, how he wanted to be remembered when he was gone, but that was just all Aria’s thought, that was what she felt was happening.
  • Aria stood in the kitchen with a smile on her face, she remembered the day her father had informed her that she would be getting married to Jimmy, she was quite upset about it. The truth was that she didn’t have feelings for him then, she already knew him for years but they weren’t close at all. Their families were friends but she was closer to Rebecca back then than any of their family members.
  • She had grumbled about the arrangement the whole day but just to not displease her father, she agreed to the arrangement. Aria could still remember going to bed in tears that night, but that was just the beginning of her night tears.
  • After she got engaged to Triple J, she came to realize that he was worse than she imagined. He barely gave attention to her except when he was horny at night, and she had foolishly fallen in love with him, she did everything possible to please him but he never appreciated or truly loved her.
  • Aria could still remember getting locked out of the room at times in the last six months of their engagement, and always having an argument with him in the mornings, just like the day he had gotten into the accident.
  • He would always disagree with her on everything, he just wasn’t fond of her and he wasn’t even talking about the wedding preparations. They had been engaged for six good months but he hadn’t for once mentioned the marriage arrangements.
  • His parents had tried to get involved a few times but he didn’t listen to them anymore. They wondered why he accepted the proposal in the first place if he didn’t like Aria. But the truth which he never openly admitted was that he wanted to sleep with her, he had always wanted to have sex with her but didn’t know how to go about it because she wasn’t that sort of girl.
  • She wasn’t close to him before the engagement and he respected the relationship his family had with hers. So when the opening came, he couldn’t refuse it. He just wanted to use the engagement as an excuse to get closer to her and after the first month, he succeeded in getting her to lay with him, and that was when her nightmare began.
  • Triple J had gotten what he wanted with her and so he lost interest, all she was to him was an object to satisfy his desires whenever there was no other option. Whenever she refused him, he would get mad and argue over it, he would be mean to her for days until she apologized and gave in to his demands.
  • Aria couldn’t talk to anyone about it, not even her friend Rebecca. They knew of the maltreatment she got from Jimmy outside the bedroom but they had no idea what happened inside the bedroom. That was her cross to carry and she carried it alone.
  • All Aria could do was pray for a change of heart and character, and now it felt like her prayers had been answered. All it took was one nasty car accident and a memory loss; she now had the fiancé that she always wanted. Her love for him had grown stronger in the past one week and she couldn’t wait to officially become his wife.
  • “Are you sure you don’t want the maids to help you?” a female voice jolted Aria out of her thoughts.
  • “Oh God!” she screamed in shock and turned to face Susan.
  • “It is not God, it is me…” the woman said and smiled. “Also, you have been standing here for more than five minutes, smiling to yourself. So are you fine? I can call the maids to do the dinner if it is a problem.” She chuckled.
  • Aria laughed softly. “Sorry Mom, I was lost in thoughts back then, just glad that Jimmy is experiencing these changes. I will start cooking now, and don’t worry… I wont get lost in thoughts again, I promise.”
  • Susan Queen laughed and shook her head. “You better don’t, we wouldn’t be having burnt food for dinner,” she joked. “And I am also happy for Jimmy, that is the Triple J we always wanted, so it is a win for us all.” She added.
  • Aria nodded and smiled shyly, then she watched Susan leave the kitchen. She turned back to the cooking gas. “Focus, Arianna, focus!!” she uttered to herself.
  • To be continued!!
