Chapter 8 More changes in the Billionaire playboy

  • It had been over a week since the accident and Jimmy was yet to regain his memory. The doctor had assured them that he was totally fine, and his speedy recovery depended on him. It was now more of a psychological problem.
  • According to the Doctor, he might have a bad memory that he is trying to push down and not remember, but as a prize to pay for that, his other memories won't return as well. So in other words, he was now responsible for his condition, he was making himself unable to remember because he was traumatized by those memories, he was in denial and his body was just responding to his brain’s command.
  • Jimmy had claimed to not know what the doctor meant, he said he barely remembered anything, just flashbacks to a particular scene which always vanished before he could understand what happened there.
  • On this very day, Aria walked into the sitting room and froze the moment she saw Triple J. She knew she had seen and heard strange things this week but this one was a complete shocker.
  • Triple J was seated alone in the sitting room, watching a carton and laughing out so loud, he was having one of the best times of his life. Now, Aria was shocked because Triple J despised cartoons; in fact, no one was allowed to watch it while he was at home, not even his parents. He would either get them to turn it off or leave the house for hours, so how was this possible?
  • Aria rubbed her eyes to make sure she was seeing clearly, the scene was still unbelievable to her. Was a memory loss that strong to change a person’s belief and behavior? Why had this not happened much sooner?
  • Jimmy was laughing out so loud to the Tom and Jerry cartoon that he didn’t even realize she was there. Aria was going to make her presence noticed but then she thought she should get a witness to this just to make sure she wasn’t making it up in her head; she was a deep thinker so it was possible that all this was just another of her imaginations.
  • Aria tiptoed back to the other hallway and hurried to Susan’s room. She stays on the first floor because of her ankles which hurt from constantly going up and down the stairs. It had caused a little drama when she demanded to move downstairs from their room on the third floor.
  • Her husband preferred staying up, he didn’t want to go down but she insisted and even put up an emotional charade to blackmail him. He tried to convince her for them to stay on the second floor at least but she refused. He then asked her to go down alone and she pulled the usual female rant of not loving them enough; the poor man, what could he do? He had no other choice than to give her what she wanted, so he went down with her.
  • Aria arrived at Susan’s door and was about to knock when the door opened. She almost hit Susan on the face since they were both 5.4’ tall. Aria withdrew her arms awkwardly and smiled nervously, it was more embarrassing for her than it should have been.
  • “Aria? What is wrong?” Susan asked immediately.
  • “Come with me, Mom. And quietly, come see for yourself,” she instructed and then she turned back towards the sitting room.
  • Susan furrowed her eyebrows, wondering if Aria had finally lost her mind from having to take care of Triple J. She followed quietly like Aria asked her to, but she didn’t bother to tiptoe like the younger lady.
  • They arrived at the sitting room and luckily, the show was still on. Before Aria could even point to Triple J, Susan’s jaws had already dropped in surprise. She had seen the scene which was almost unreal. Triple J watching a cartoon? A stranger would probably find them weird for reacting that way but someone who knew how much Triple J hated cartoons would react just the same way.
  • This shit was real? Now she was really beginning to get curious. Not like she didn’t like the new change but why and how? This wasn’t the Triple J they knew from a week ago, he switched on the channel by himself and was enjoying it? That sounded like a dream or a fairytale.
  • Wait, maybe this was a dream, because this is unlikely. Susan and Aria just stood there in shock, the scene wasn’t just fascinating but unbelievable. Aria had just brought out her phone to video record him when he noticed them.
  • “Oh, hi ladies… didn’t see you there, you want to join me? It is a very funny series,” he said with a wholesome smile. It was natural, he was just excited and he wasn’t forcing it.
  • Aria and Susan stared at each other, they were still trying to believe it. So this was real? And he was still watching it even after they saw him, which means he had no problem with cartoons. So why did he act like he hated them so much when he still had his memories? It just made no sense.
  • If she was to go by her father’s explanation, does it mean that he has bad memories related to cartoons, lobsters and so much more which made him pretend to hate them?
  • Aria and Susan accepted his offer immediately. They both went and sat down on the three-seater sofa with him. While his concentration was on the cartoon, Susan’s concentration was on her son. She had this strange feeling inside her that the son she had always wanted had finally been giving to her.
  • Indeed, God knows how to do things. She had been asking for years that he touches her son’s life and makes him more of a gentleman then the thuggish life he chose for himself. She had constantly prayed that he dropped his attitude and learnt to behave like a well-mannered young man. But was this really the case? Was Triple J indeed a changed person or was there more to his new behavior?
  • To be continued!!
