• Ann had left Manor for some days now, and without informing anyone of her whereabouts, I came back from Paris to find Kat and my cousin Harriet in the manor, Harriet had just come back from overseas. Harriet was Arthur's younger sister and Kat's best friend, she was the one who had introduced me to Kat.
