Chapter 9 Party

  • "Daddy,"
  • I greeted Dad with a kiss.
  • "Hello."
  • I greet the others with him in the office.
  • "Baby,"
  • He kissed the side of my head.
  • His croaked voice matches his outside appearance. He is a bit aged. He is 12 years older than my mother, they arranged marriage with mommy so the age gap of them is not that surprising anymore.
  • Dad is not the perfect father but he's my only one in this world. When I was young I was aware of the world I grew up in. I didn't question having a body guard all the time beside me, because having him in the political world is enough explanation. Lots of enemies, lots of issues and whatnot.
  • People always see him as this terror and dominant Governor of the city. Plus his firstborns from different women always adds the fuel in the fire. That's one hell of an impression for people who don't know him.
  • And I admire him for that, he raised me and Jax by himself. We are very well off and we can have anything we want but having him as our father is more than enough.
  • Even without gold spoon in our mouth I still believe that he'll be a great father. My grandfather is a politician too, when he was young he was expected to follow in his grandfather's footsteps because he was the only child.
  • And I understand him for having kids with different women because it takes so much strength to love in the type of world he is in.
  • And right now that he's alone, my sympathy is on him. He still chose to serve the people rather than his own pleasure.
  • "Is she your only child Mayor?"
  • A middle age man uttered as well. Straight from the school, and still wearing my uniform I came here when I heard he's not on the municipal today. And I also told him what my older brother and I had discussed.
  • "Yes, Mr. Rosales. I'm sorry there’s still no arrangement to be talked about. My daughter is still young."
  • He said jokingly which caused a commotion and later said goodbye for a while. He led me near the office jamb.
  • "How's first day?"
  • "It's fine dad. I already talked to Jax - about the campaign."
  • "He said he'll come here to personally talk to you. But I bet he's still not happy about it."
  • He sighed and nodded slowly. Seems to be thinking about what I said.
  • Daddy's term is coming to an end. And they are planning to put Jax in the succeeding place of him. They are having a hard time convincing him since Jax is really not interested about politics. He's graduating law yet he's having his own business. This is what my older brother and dad often argue about.
  • "Thank you, hija."
  • I shifted.
  • "Hmmm. Daddy, can I go out tonight? It's our friend’s birthday."
  • I was about to leave but stopped because of what I said. He narrowed his eyes on me. I pouted and hugged him.
  • "Please daddy. We've been in the US for a few months, this is my only time to be with my friends."
  • He sighed and towered over me.
  • "Make sure to have your body guards. And please, take care Jade."
  • I jumped with Joy and hugged him.
  • "Yes Dad, I'll be with Olivia. I'll message you, I love you, bye!"
  • That's how I usually finished our conversation.
  • My father is a busy Governor. You don't expect us to always see each other, but when he has time he always make sure to spend time with us. It was almost night when I confirmed to Olivia that Daddy had allowed me.
  • The lunatic is almost celebrating because she will finally be able to come out. I wore a red bodycon dress. It's not short but it's not like that long either. Just enough with my age. I paired it with one of my stilettos and a pouch for the few I needed.
  • The party will start at 9 PM and it will be held right at our friend’s house. I really don't have a curfew, as long as I message my dad where I am I'm all fine. And of course, my body guard.
  • "I'll just message you."
  • I say goodbye to the body guard. It's not that I have to message him yet, he always pops out anywhere, anytime when I need him. When I got there, there were already a lot of people.
  • Some familiar friends welcomed me, I was even blocked in the garden area because I had a few acquaintances talking. It's because I just got back from the US and they are wondering about me.
  • "Sissy!"
  • I smiled at Olivia. She's wearing an exage type of ripped jeans paired with a crop top. He was already holding vodka while someone was talking in front of him.
  • "Don't tell me you're drunk." I teased her.
  • "Damn, I just got here Jade. Did you see Aiden?"
  • I looked around and slowly stared at anyone I saw. The night is still young yet the party is already alive.
  • "I don't know. Haven't seen him."
  • "I've been looking for you a while ago. Oh hey, Lawrence!"
  • The noise in Chass's house was mixed. On one part the people are playing games, others just gather. There is a dance floor right in the middle.
  • And there are a few more in the garden and pool area. Olivia and I are here on the terrace overlooking the garden and pool area so the noise makes my system even more.
  • "Hi, Ladies."
  • Lawrence greeted the two of us.
  • He gave me a glass of vodka and winked at me.
  • "Too early for this, but why not?"
  • I smirked and drank. He laughed a little when I took one shot.
  • "Hell!"
  • Olivia shouted. I laughed because he was slowing down his vodka.
  • "Won't your daddy scold you?"
  • Even Lawrence.
  • "You, won't your mommy scold you? Your momma’s boy outfit’s screaming so..."
  • I pissed him off, and he even said what because of what I said.
  • "I'll just find Chass."
