Chapter 7 Fvcking Hearts Day

  • When I got there again I could no longer see their forms where they were hiding. I saw the girl a while ago, now sitting on the edge of the pool.
  • I looked around but I could no longer see Erato.
  • "Why are you here, kid?"
  • My reflexes are fast. I turned around when I heard his voice so I could face him.
  • His body’s flaunting in front of me. He's just 17 but his body look so matured and well built. Maybe because of his parent’s genes, he is almost the same as my brother Jaxon but I can still say that he’s still not on the level of Erato.
  • "H-huh?"
  • He drank on the glass of cold water he's holding. I was swallowed up there because of nervousness. This is my first time seeing him outside, not on our mansion and such.
  • "What are you doing here? It's almost midnight, where's your body guard?"
  • "Uhm .."
  • I winced as he asked. I tightened my grip on my gift , unable to find what to say. His body is destructive as well as his presence. I can't think straight. We are just talking normally but I don't seem to be my self anymore.
  • "There's a party here right? Daddy allowed me."
  • "What?" He laughed sarcastically.
  • "And I didn’t expect the party to be like this."
  • He combed his hair with his finger. He set the glass down on a display table there. His dangerous eyes are wicked and sarcastic.
  • "Different party? Why? Are there no parlor games?"
  • I lost the slightest bit of patience I was holding.
  • When he said that, it seemed like he was just insulting me. I straightened up and bravely faced him. He was almost looked up to because of his height.
  • "W-who was the woman you were with earlier?"
  • He did not answer. He just stared at me for God knows how long. The dark surroundings make the shape of his jaw worse. His lips twitched before it formed to a smirk.
  • "Monica's my friend."
  • "Friend?"
  • My tone is not a tone of questioning but a clear diction that I’m not believing what he just said. His eyebrows furrowed.
  • "Is that how you treat your female friends?"
  • His expression became darker.
  • "Does your friendship includes french kissing or making out?"
  • I thought I cornered him. I said that because of the length of time he didn’t answer. Tears are already forming in my eyes because of the tightness of my chest that I’m feeling and the restraint of the sudden burst.
  • "Why are you even making a big deal out of it? Where is Olivia and just play with your toys or something."
  • "Ha!"
  • I spat and comb my hair with my fingers. His sentence clicked the one last thing inside me.
  • Yeah, right! Why am I making this a big deal?
  • "I beg my dad just to be here and you'll ask me why am I making this a big deal? Here's the thing Erato,"
  • I stepped closer to him. He looked down on me.
  • "I. Like. You. I came here to see you and give my gift that I made for weeks for this fvckin heart's day."
  • His eyes are mad and I can't read his emotions. I don't care about my nervousness anymore because I'm just overwhelmed with annoyance. Even the thought of his handsome and hot body did not passed my mind.
  • "I am Jade Fuentabella. It's not my responsibility to give up, I'm not alive for that purpose. Everyone can make their choice to step on my ego but I'll choose who I'll feel the pain."
  • His lips parted. I dropped the paper bag I was carrying on his chest.
  • "Happy Valentine's Day." I said angrily and left him there.
  • ___
  • "Happy my ass."
  • I whispered to myself and stood up to start another routine. That night I cried my ass out and called my driver to send me home. I can't afford being in the same place with Erato.
  • I couldn’t accept that the slanders Olivia told me were true nor did the hurtful things she said. That I seem to have proven to myself that I am a fool.
  • "Good morning!"
  • "Go to hell."
  • I uttered nonchalantly and sipped into my frappe.
  • Olivia burst out laughing as I sat in the chair next to her. It's my first day in senior high, Aiden's good morning wasn't enough to erase my bad mood.
  • "Looks like school isn't the only first day."
  • Olivia's teasing.
  • "No need to order you to go to hell. For sure that's where you're going."
  • I talked to Olivia.
  • She spat out another set of laughter. God, that didn’t even annoy her, I can't react to her teasing because she was never affected. The guts.
  • I saw Aiden finally able to move after my way of greeting him.
  • "The heck Jade, it's the first time we've seen each other since you went out of the country!"
  • I know. I'm just not in the mood. And definitely not in the mood to explain my self.
  • "Aiden, Jade just needs some vanilla conversations."
  • Olivia teased me more and I pretend to hear nothing.
  • I just took my schedule out of the bag and looked at what class we had now.
  • "2 PM. Mall after this?"
  • I asked Olivia.
  • "Jade ..."
  • Aiden muttered to the side.
  • Aiden is a son of a family friend. We've known each other for years now and he's my ex.
  • Yes, I know. Everybody knows I'm head over heels with Erato. I wouldn't be telling the truth if I hadn't gone through the puberty stage.
  • It was just a bet around our circle of friends. And we tried it, we lasted on for a few weeks until I called it out. I don't know if Aiden took it seriously. He started to give me hints so I'm out.
  • "PMS Aiden, Sorry."
  • I smiled trying not to be rude.
  • "All right, let's go to the mall. We should just skip class. There's nothing to do."
  • Olivia said bored. We just talked about what-ifs.
