Chapter 7 Wetting Himself in Fear
- When his intimidation failed, Hugh immediately panicked and shouted, "Stop! Do you know who I am? How dare you make a move without understanding the situation?" While he spoke, he kept signalling to a lackey by his side to go out and call for reinforcements.
- Hugh's signal compelled the man to obey. He trembled as he crawled and scrambled out of the room.
- Damon glanced up. His narrow eyes were narrowing slightly. The look in his eyes was deep and unreadable.
- He sat there with his legs crossed, leaning back slightly against the sofa, with his hands resting on the sofa's edge. His casual posture projected an air of inherent dominance.
- Just sitting there, he exuded a powerful aura that made others afraid to meet his gaze.
- Everyone present felt as if they had done something wrong. They cowered together with their heads down, not daring to breathe loudly.
- Damon suddenly gestured with his hand to pause. Dave understood immediately and stood respectfully beside Damon without any haste.
- At this moment, Hugh continued to challenge them fearlessly. He taunted, "Just wait! My men will be here shortly. Haha! It will be your doom."
- The men who had flattered Hugh earlier looked at him as if he were an idiot, hoping the big shot wouldn't take his anger out on them.
- They hadn't even touched that woman.
- "Who dares to cause trouble on my turf?" A rough voice boomed into the room.
- Everyone turned towards the door.
- A man in his mid-forties, dressed in a suit, walked in with steady steps. He was followed by a group of formidable-looking bodyguards.
- When Hugh saw the man, he ran over joyfully and cried out, "Uncle Baz, you must stand up for me!"
- Baz looked at his nephew, who was bleeding from the head. He roared in anger and asked, "Who dared to hurt you? Did they desire expulsion from the Osten?
- Hugh was ecstatic. He gave a thumbs up to the lackey who had brought Baz Swanson. Hugh was grateful that his uncle had personally come to support him.
- Baz scanned the room. When he saw the face of the man lounging on the sofa, he almost fainted from fright.
- Hugh quickly supported his uncle, who was frozen in place.
- What was going on? Why is this fearsome man here?
- When he saw the man's dark expression, he had a bad feeling. Could it be that his nephew had angered this powerful figure?
- Meanwhile, Damon, sitting there, watched Baz's behaviour with satisfaction, a smile tugging at his lips.
- Not bad; at least there's someone who knows who I am!
- Baz quickly regained his composure. He approached Damon with a servile manner and asked, "Mr. Lindon, what brings you here?"
- When someone arrived to support Hugh, everyone exhaled with relief. Witnessing this scene, many spineless individuals wet themselves in fear.
- The day's events felt like a rollercoaster of emotions, leaving them speechless.
- Hugh, on the other hand, was utterly terrified at that moment.
- What did Uncle Baz just call him?
- Mr. Lindon?!
- Damon Lindon, the famous Hades, was the only person who could make his uncle, a dominating figure, grovel and act servile!
- Hugh's entire body began to tremble uncontrollably when he deduced this. He prayed silently, hoping it wasn't true.
- Please don't let it be, Mr. Lindon! Please don't let it be, Mr. Lindon!
- "Your nephew had touched someone he shouldn't have," Damon said coldly, staring at Hugh as if he were already dead.
- "I'm sorry, Mr. Lindon. You can do whatever you want with him. Just please, spare his life. I need to answer to my brother," Baz said nervously, wiping the sweat off his forehead. Inside, he cursed Hugh for being such an idiot as to offend Damon.
- Damon swept an icy glance at him and asked, "You're telling me what to do?" Baz stuttered, "N-no, of course not."
- Upon witnessing Baz's intense fear of this man, Hugh collapsed onto the floor, overcome with despair. He never imagined that trying to get a woman would lead him to offend Hades.
- "Mr. Lindon, I was wrong. I didn't know who I was dealing with. I'm trash; please spare my life."
- Hugh lay on the ground, continuously apologising, his head bleeding from repeatedly banging against the floor. His hands kept slapping his own face, his entire body trembling uncontrollably, and a stench of urine wafted from beneath him.
- Hugh, who was once arrogant, had wet himself out of fear.
- Even though he was terrified, Hugh didn't stop his actions. His forehead had turned into a bloody mess, and his face was swollen, which made him look ridiculous.
- Hugh was almost in tears. Everyone who had crossed Damon in the past was long dead. How could he have acted so foolishly as to provoke Damon? He was asking for his own demise.
- Upon realising Damon's identity, the others immediately kneeled on the ground, begging for mercy.
- The scene looked absurd to Ava.
- Oh my! Are these people so afraid of Damon?
- So, his punishment for me had been light. Otherwise, I would've been dead by now.
- She even admired her younger self for daring to sleep with Damon. That took guts!
- Everyone had different expressions on their faces.
- The atmosphere was tense as everyone awaited Hades's judgement.
- Damon's brows furrowed as he glanced at Hugh in disgust. He declared sternly, "You all can leave. He stays."
- That sent the group crawling and scrambling out of the room as if pardoned.
- Baz looked at his beaten-up nephew, then at Damon, who exuded a chilling aura. He shook his head helplessly. His lackey also silently followed him out of the room.
- Soon, only Damon's and Hugh's people remained in the room.
- Damon could no longer sit still. He grabbed Ava, who was dumbfounded, from the sofa and strode out of the room.
- After he gave a signal, the screams of agony echoed behind them. Despite the door separating them, it was easy to imagine the gruesome scene.
- By the time Ava realised what was happening, they were already downstairs. She struggled desperately to escape his grip.
- The difference in their strength was too great. She was helpless against him, like a chick, while Damon was a powerful eagle.
- Under the pitying gazes of onlookers, Ava was dragged out of the nightclub.
- Once outside, Damon let go of her in disgust.
- "Ouch!" Ava cried out as she stumbled and fell to the ground.
- Rubbing her sore knee, Ava rolled her eyes.
- She grumbled internally that this man still lacked compassion and chivalry.
- Damon leveraged his towering height and looked down at her.
- "Get in the car," he ordered coldly before turning and getting in.
- Recent events still shake Ava. Although Damon had saved her, what if he had more devious plans to punish her?
- She couldn't play his game and needed to get back to her son.
- Ava refused to get in the car. Her voice was firm as she rejected, "Mr. Lindon, whatever you need to say, say it here. It's late, and I need to go home."
- Having decided to distance herself, she thought it best to address him formally.
- Damon's brows furrowed. This ungrateful woman! I just saved her, and she couldn't even say thank you.
- How rude!
