Chapter 1 Remember, My Name is Ava!
- Damon Lindon roared, "Who allowed you to come in here? Get out!"
- Damon's expression darkened. His eyes were brimming with undisguised disgust when he saw that woman walk into the bedroom.
- Ava Mitchell instinctively trembled when he roared at her. She bit her lip hard, struggling to hold back the tears in her eyes.
- She had loved this man for ten years. Even when he fell into a coma after a car accident and Damon's grandmother, Mabel insisted she marry him to bring good luck, she agreed without hesitation. When Damon woke up, his first demand was to divorce her.
- In his eyes, she was nothing more than a lowlife who had sold her body for money.
- "Mr. Lindon, have you ever had any feelings for me?" She took a deep breath and asked cautiously, just like a pitiful kitten yearning for its owner's affection.
- Even just a little ...
- But the next moment, the man's expression turned mocking. His voice dripped with contempt as he mocked, "If you're here to ask for more compensation when we get a divorce, you better give that up."
- His words cut her deeply.
- Indeed, in his eyes, she was nothing more than a despicable woman who sold her body for money.
- "I don't want your money." Taking a deep breath, Ava's eyes flashed with determination. Slowly, she unbuttoned her coat and revealed the light purple lace lingerie underneath. Her fair skin peeked through, seductive and alluring.
- Damon was stunned for a moment, not expecting the usually old-fashioned Ava to have such a sensual side.
- However, the moment was fleeting. His expression turned scornful again, and he ridiculed, "You are capable of doing something so shameless for the sake of money."
- Ava repeated, "I already told you that I don't want your money!"
- At that moment, Ava felt a surge of courage. She screamed with desperation like a mad woman. Tears welled in her eyes as she demanded, "I just want to be your wife."
- "Shut up, you ... " Damon's expression was as cold as ice, filled with intense disgust. Before he could finish, a strong sense of dizziness almost made him collapse. He barely steadied himself by holding onto the bed. After that, a strange urge rose within him, making his body feel unbearably hot. The sight of Ava in her lace lingerie stirred an unprecedented desire in him.
- "Ava, how dare you drug me? Do you want to get yourself killed?" Damon roared with a mixture of shock and fury. He struggled to stand, falling back onto the bed, his body weak.
- Ignoring his outburst, Ava let the lingerie slip to the floor. She slowly approached him and gently caressed his face.
- "Mr. Lindon, I know she's back. I know I can't compare to her, but I want you to always remember me. My name is Ava."
- She whispered softly. Then she leaned in. Tears streamed down as she felt a sharp pain.
- That night was one of passion, leaving an indelible mark.
- ...
- The next morning.
- Sunlight streamed through the semi-transparent curtains and cast a glow on the bed.
- The dazzling sunlight woke him up. Slowly, Damon opened his eyes. His face was nothing short of perfection, and his features were deep and charming.
- He rubbed his aching temples. Suddenly, the events of the previous night crashed back into his mind. Damon sat up abruptly; his face instantly turned menacing.
- Damn it, Ava had the nerve to drug me.
- "Ava!" he shouted angrily.
- But the room was silent. He looked around but saw no sign of her.
- Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a note and a stack of cash on the marble table.
- He quickly got dressed and walked over.
- "This is your reward for last night. Your performance … was average."
- His already dark face turned even colder.
- His long, slender fingers crumpled the note into a ball. His fierce gaze burned with rage.
- That damn woman had used his own money to insult him!
- Did she think of me as some cheap gigolo?
- And she dared to call my performance average ... average.
- Damon's inner fury roared, his teeth gritting. He was filled with the intention of killing her.
- "Ava, you better hope I never see you again, or you'll learn the consequences of angering me!"
- ...
- Ten months later.
- In a small rented apartment, Ava gave birth to adorable twins.
- She gazed at her chubby sons in the crib and was lost in thought.
- For ten months, she had gone out with heavy makeup and fake moles to avoid Damon's notice.
- A man like Damon, high and mighty, hated being manipulated and falling into schemes. If he ever caught her, she would face a terrible fate.
- Ava, troubled, rested her face in her hands. She could manage on her own, but escaping with two sons was difficult.
- At this moment, Ava couldn't help but sigh. She realized she had been too impulsive back then. Acting on a sudden impulse, she hadn't considered the consequences at all.
- After much thought, she made a painful decision.
- In front of Lindon Mansion.
- Damon frowned coldly as he looked at the chubby baby boy in the swaddling clothes. His aura turned icy, intimidating the doctor into shivering in fear.
- Suddenly, he let out a cold laugh. People these days are so bold as to attempt to deceive him. He didn't believe for a second that the baby was his.
- "Who is his mother?" He asked through gritted teeth.
- The doctor knew the news he brought was difficult to believe. He handed Damon a photo.
- "This is the mother. She died of severe blood loss during childbirth. We couldn't save her. I'm sorry." The doctor said, guilt-ridden.
- When he saw the woman's face, Damon was stunned. He struggled with words.
- Dead? That despicable woman was dead.
- After a long while, his cold eyes still filled with doubt as he questioned, "Do you think I'll believe you just because you showed me a photo and said a few words?"
