Chapter 10 Infiltrating the Lindon Group's Network
- This was hardly a challenge for him. A sly smile flickered in Zeke's eyes.
- Under the guise of the hacker, Lord Z, he infiltrated the Lindon Group's network. Zeke broke through layer after layer of encryption in search of Damon's photos.
- After an exhaustive search, he found nothing.
- Just as he was about to hack into the Lindon Group's surveillance system to check on his mother, his phone rang unexpectedly.
- He had no choice but to abort the intrusion and quickly shut down his computer.
- "Mom, where are you?" He asked anxiously.
- "Sweetheart, Mommy will be home soon. Just wait for me, okay?" Ava's voice softened as she heard her son's sweet tone. It lifted the gloom from her entire day.
- She was grateful for Zeke's presence over the years; without him, she would have been completely alone.
- Meanwhile, Damon was about to leave his office when an alarm suddenly blared from above.
- Almost immediately, the on-duty staff noticed the network anomaly and promptly informed Dave, the president's personal assistant.
- "Mr. Lindon, we have a problem. Our network has been hacked!" Dave's voice was urgent over the phone.
- Damon swiftly returned to his leather chair and opened the Lindon Group's homepage when he received the call.
- When he saw the layers of breached encryption, he quickly checked the secure database and found nothing missing.
- It was clearly a provocation.
- At that moment, Dave had rushed into the office at his top speed. After he received a nod from Damon, he quickly went to the office.
- "Lord Z?" Damon narrowed his eyes and said dangerously, "Have I been too kind lately and attracted so many who dare to court death?"
- The room's temperature plummeted. Dave had just entered the room. Fearing the CEO's burning anger, he held his breath and dared not make a sound.
- Did his boss just claim he was too kind?
- Oh my god! This is the most ridiculous joke I've ever heard in my life.
- Dave silently complained to himself.
- Damon glanced up and gave his assistant a look. He was already questioning whether he should get a new assistant. Dave appeared to be suffering from mid-life dementia, as he had been zoning out more and more lately.
- Feeling the sharp stare, Dave snapped back to attention and carefully reported, "The intruder worked too fast. We didn't have time to breach his firewall before he escaped."
- Dave felt the oppressive atmosphere, and his voice grew quieter, not daring to look up.
- Damon's face darkened. His tone was icy as he commanded, "Isn't half of the tech team stationed at the company? How did they miss this?"
- "Well, it was after work hours. Some were having dinner, and others were resting." Dave's voice trembled as he explained.
- Silence enveloped the room for several seconds.
- Damon's cold, commanding gaze moved between Dave and the computer screen. He suddenly asked, "Did you trace Lord Z's identity?"
- "We haven't found any information on him yet." Dave felt so anxious that his heart almost leaped out of his throat.
- "Get out," Damon ordered coldly as he locked his piercing gaze at Dave.
- Dave wiped his cold sweat as he exited the office.
- He was grateful for his fitness; otherwise, he would have collapsed under his boss's oppressive aura.
- Fortunately, nothing important was stolen, or the entire tech team would have been fired.
- Dave would also suffer consequences, as he was likely sent to Nespiyca to mine.
- He composed himself and sternly addressed the network security team.
- "Listen up! If you don't want to be sent to Nespiyca to mine, do your jobs properly. If this happens again, you will pack your bags!"
- The mere mention of Nespiyca widened everyone's eyes. That place was hell on earth. They quickly grew serious as they buried themselves in their work.
- It was a tense night, but nothing had happened. Damon checked the time and left the building.
- Dave and the tech team were left in the office to work through the night, fixing firewalls and resetting passwords.
- ...
- At Lindon Mansion.
- The expansive, luxurious mansion stood amidst a vast garden.
- "Damon, you're finally home!" Silvia lounged with her feet up, munching on an apple while flipping channels with the remote.
- Damon glanced at her and shook his head. Five years had passed, and his sister was still as carefree and irresponsible as ever.
- It was time to find her a boyfriend.
- "Wash your hands and have dinner!" Lane Fleming, Damon's mother, smiled warmly at her accomplished son. Her eyes are full of love.
- Damon followed her voice and was surprised to see his mother. He asked, "When did you arrive?"
- "Around noon. Silvia has come home; your father and I thought we'd have a family dinner," Lane replied, setting the table.
- Looking at the table filled with delicious dishes, he knew they were his mother's handiwork.
- He glanced around, but didn't see his son. He began searching the entire house.
- Lane noticed her son's concern and knew he was looking for Aster. She said gently, "Aster is with his grandpa in the game room. They are building blocks."
- Damon changed his shoes and headed to the playroom. He walked up to Aster and asked, "Why did you break things today?"
- George Lindon, Damon's father, was there and watched his grandson build a large Lego robot.
- However, the so-called accompany was just the old man proudly sitting beside Aster, watching his grandson with admiration.
- Aster ignored Damon and focused on his Lego. The robot towered over him.
- "Answer me!" Damon raised his voice when the boy ignored him.
- "You're a liar. Why should I talk to you?" Aster shoved the final Lego piece into the robot's eye and pushed Damon aside, heading upstairs.
- Damon was puzzled. He held back his anger and asked, "Liar? Did someone tell you something?"
- His question went unanswered.
- Hearing the door slam, Damon turned to his father, seeking answers.
- George was equally puzzled. Aster had been building blocks all afternoon when they arrived, not speaking a word. He had sat beside him all afternoon.
- "This brat's temper is getting worse," Damon grumbled. He was already irritated by Ava that day, and his rage flared up at this time.
- George chuckled from the side and mocked him. "He's your son, after all."
- Hahaha! This is the circle of life; Damon had tormented us once, just as Aster tormented him now.
