Chapter 6 Threat
- Diane's POV
- I don’t know why it hurt me so much. My legs trembled, and I fought hard to hold back my tears. His words were like rock slamming me in the chest.
- Even when he turned and saw me behind him, his countenance didn’t change. There was nothing to show I meant anything to him, just as he had told Jaden.
- He doesn't care about me, and realizing it was so heartbreaking.
- Why had I thought he came here for me?
- He didn't even know this was the school I was attending.
- “What are you also doing here? Why are you both coming to my office? I can't remember asking to meet any of you!” He snapped, his brows furrowed.
- “We will be leaving. Sorry,” Jaden smirked, striding toward me. “Let's go, baby. You heard what he just said.” He said to me with a smug smile and tried to grab my hand, but I backed away.
- “Leave me alone, and don’t you ever call me baby.” I bawled, throbbing pain swelling inside my chest. I had been so excited to see Leo, but he was no better than Jaden.
- Both made me feel loved and had also shattered me.
- “You will crawl back begging me when your beautiful pictures flood the school site. This anger of yours won’t save you.” Jaden jeered, sauntering off with both hands shoved in his pocket.
- “I hate you! I hate you with all my heart, and I swear if you do this, I will make sure you pay for it. I will...” I was yelling at Jaden, but my voice hitched in my throat when I heard Leo’s office door slam shut.
- He just left, unbothered about what Jaden had just said to me.
- I was broken; my vision blurred with hot tears as I stared at his door. It was like he just betrayed me. I was over the moon believing Leo was in this school to protect me, but it seemed I was totally wrong.
- The man here wasn't the same man I met that night. To him, it was just a one-night stand with no strings attached, and he doesn’t want to have anything to do with me. He clearly saw that Jaden was about to destroy me, yet he turned his back on me. Why?
- Why does he suddenly hate me now?
- “What did I do wrong?” I asked myself and quickly stand up in a rush.
- I hit a hard knock on his door.
- “Who is there?” He asked, but I said nothing and knocked harder.
- He opened the door, and I shoved past before he could say anything else.
- “What is all this, Mr. Leo? I understand you're now my teacher, and it is hard to show any public affection to avoid scandals, but that doesn't mean you should treat me like a stranger. You even act like you hate me!” I sniffed as he slowly shut the door before he turned to me.
- He frowned as though he was confused at what I said. “I don't hate you. I barely know you. Maybe it's your delusion that is the problem.
- “At least be friendly to me. We had one of the best moments of my...”
- “Diane, I can barely remember all that happened that night. It was in the past, and if I had made you think I was in love with you, I am sorry because I only wanted someone to spend the night with.” He sighed and shrugged, relaxing on his chair.
- “You offered yourself to me. You literally asked me for it, and I accepted. I even paid more than required for a night.”
- I couldn't control myself as I closed the gap between us and raised my hand to slap him, but he seized my hand up in the air.
- “Don't try that.” He growled, and I searched in his eyes to see at least a glimmer of affection or care, but none of that was in there, just raw unfamiliarity.
- He yanked my hand down and headed to the door, which he opened and pointed at the exit for me.
- “So to you, that night I was just one of the sex workers you picked for the night? It is alright. I was the stupid one. I fell for your lies and deception and gave you my….”
- “Remember, I never asked for it. You gave it voluntarily. I am not to be blamed for anything. I will love it if you forget all that and face your life while I do the same. You are just one of my students and nothing else!” His eyes were icy as he said those words.
- I felt more stupid. I could remember everything that happened that night, and he was right. I was the one who offered myself to him like a worthless obsessed bitch.
- “Please leave before people start thinking otherwise,” he seethed, hissing in frustration as if my presence was itching him.
- Does he hate me this much?
- “You are worse than Jaden!” I spat and Lana howled in disappointment as I scurried out with heavy heart.
- I ran out, and even when it wasn't break time yet, I didn't enter the class but went to the garden to cry my eyes out.
- “It is finally time to tell mom and dad everything so they would take us out of this school or even away from this pack..” Lane sobbed.
- My heart felt like it was pierced with a lance as Leo's hurtful words echoed in my head once again. He really doesn't give a fuck about me.
- Maybe he was right; I was the fool that expected a lot when it was just a one-night stand. Worst of all, Jaden would be at the corner setting up an evil plan for me just because of him.
- Gosh. Do I really deserve all this?
- Everything went fast that day, and soon enough the closing bell rang. I went back to the classroom and was literally the first to pick my bag from the locker and head out.
- Jaden showed up as I was close to the exit gate. “So your knight in shining armor has also dumped you.” He mocked and laughed from behind, but I ignored.
- “Your parents depends on their good reputation in their business. A slutty daughter is the last thing anyone would expect from Hunters like them. I can remember how they boast of you being a modest and innocent girl.” He added and laughed
- I felt my heart grow heavy and tears welled up again in my eyes. “Why do you want to destroy me. You are also putting my parents' business at risk. I did nothing wrong to you other than love and trust you. We agreed to delete all that, but you kept yours. Why are you so wicked and heartless!”
- “I am not that wicked. In fact, I have changed my mind, but under some conditions.” He smiled, wiping my tears with his thumb.
- “What is the condition?" I asked breathlessly.
- “I don't like Leo a bit, and with the way he treated you a few hours ago, I am sure you have also killed whatever feelings you have for him, right?”
- “Jaden, what condition are you talking about?!” I murmured, not wanting to talk about Leo..
- “Okay, I want you to pull a false accusation of rape against him. That night you were quite drunk, and everyone in the bar saw how he carried you in his arms and took you to the hotel. Don't worry about how to prove it; my family lawyer will deal with it. Just….”
- “You must be joking, right?” I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief. I can't believe he could say something like this.
- “That is the first condition. The other is that you offer yourself to me twice every week. I really miss your body. I badly want to feel myself inside….”
- “Go to hell!” I shrieked in anger and walked away.
- “Greet your parents for me…” He hollered and laughed aloud.
- I wiped my tears, clutching my bag tight as I hurried back home.
- As I got home and reached the sitting room door, I saw my father chatting and teasing my mother as they giggled . My heart sank and I could imagine how sour our lives would turn if Jaden leak all that. The sadness and depression when the whole packs find out I was doing nasty things for someone who isn't my mate.
- Their business would really suffer.
- Shit!
- I bite my lower lip as the thought of complying with Jaden's deal crept into my mind. My heart clenched tight. I thought of Leo's life getting ruined by me when I was the one who forced him to do all that for me. Even the kiss, I forced it on him.
- But my parents don't deserve this too…
- God!
- “Hey, dear… What happened? Why are you just standing there? You are in tears. What is wrong?" My mother called out as they both rushed at me. They just noticed my presence.
- “Tell me who hurt you in school. Tell me what the problem is.” My father asked with a serious tone.
- “Yes, daughter. You shouldn't be hiding anything from us. We are here for you and will help you with anything." My mother added, sitting me on her lap in the couch and tucking my hair.
- They both loved and cared for me, ready to do anything to put a smile on my face, while Leo had made it clear I was nothing to him.
- Why the hell was it hard to accept Jaden's deal?
- “Is it Jaden that hurt you?” my father asked in an angry tone, hatred glinting in his eyes.
- “Yes, he broke up with me.” I exhaled, lying through my teeth and they both sighed in relief, smiles spreading across their faces.
- “Is that why you're killing yourself? I swear, daughter, this is good news.” My mother cooed, pecking my cheek.
- “You will soon realize it is good news. That boy isn't a good guy for you at all. His parents are even worse.” My father breathed, parting me on the shoulder soothingly.
- I nodded and forced out a smile.
- “You both are right. I will move on from him. He is a wicked guy.” I sniffed, drying my tears with the back of my palm.
- “Go and change so you can come down and eat.” My mother cooed and pecked me before I hurried up the stairs.
- As soon as I reached my room, I picked up my phone and dialed Jaden's number. As the call went through, I took a deep breath and muttered.
- “I will do everything you say. Just don't upload anything.”
