Chapter 43
- Clutching her pillow in a suffocating embrace, Roxy released a heart-stabbing sob from deep within her chest, allowing the flood of tears to stain the soft white cushion. Permitting the screams of agony to fade into the padding she held over her face to muffle the sounds of sadness.
- "FUCK!" Roxy couldn't sleep. Counting, breathing, meditating, rain sounds – it was all useless. Nothing was soothing her. After expelling her emotions, all she did was twist and turn, staring into nothingness, consumed by thoughts she was at war with.
- The knowledge that he was in her apartment was driving Roxy crazy. She couldn't bear the thought of them alone together, behind closed doors. Especially after knowing how she had said she would... No, stop. She wouldn't do that. She's her friend, right? But he's not hers, so it shouldn't matter. She didn't even want to see him, so why was she losing sleep over this?
