- The intensity of Kaleb's smouldering gaze and the weight of his admission made me shift on the cushion. I couldn't control my heartbeat as it accelerated or my eyes as I looked at Kaleb intently. I was aware of the silence that surrounded us in the courtyard, save for the sounds of the birds chirping.
- "It has been you since I laid my eyes on you, baby," Kaleb whispered, getting up from the chair slowly. I forgot how to breathe as he sat beside me, taking me back to earlier that day.
