- I sat on Kaleb's leather couch on one of the balconies of his home, a bowl of chicken broth on the table in front of me. He had driven me to a house on Sedberry Road, only a few minutes from the heart of Nashville. As I looked over the garden, I wondered whether I was humane because I felt nothing after losing the pregnancy.
