• “I've examined Dr. Watts' scans,” Doc Drexler said, handing Lila a tablet. “The Brain Fungus, as Dr. Watts calls it, is growing into several key regions in his brain, including Broca and Wernicke's area, colloquially known as the language center. It's now communicating fully articulately through him. It requests to speak to the leader of humans.”
• Lila was taken aback. “Leader of humans? What does that even mean?” The irony was not lost, that although many have claimed as much, no human, past or present, could be considered the absolute leader of humanity.
