• Akira sat in the common room of the sanatorium, surrounded by fellow patients watching TV and chatting. But he was in his own world, focused intently on the canvas laid out before him. He was painting a portrait of a woman, using his own memories and imagination as reference. Her eyes were piercing, and her hair flowed like a river, imbued with an otherworldly quality. Akira had always been fascinated by mythology and surrealism, and this painting was a blend of both.
