• Since they started working on the big Brand Identity project, Pam had spent most of the time working on her copy, or in briefings with Pixel. Akira was sitting alone in the hanging gardens of Babylon. His mind kept going over Pixel's last message, asking for last-minute changes to the mockups featuring the new logo concepts. Things like rotating the logó counterclockwise by 0.25 degrees, increasing the dimensions by 0.52 millimeters, increasing the spacing between the letters, adjusting the saturation of blue on the background by 1.33 percent, and increasing transparency of the drop shadow by 15.87 percent. Akira felt the result would look nearly identical and Pixel was just giving him the runaround.
• Akira was fuming inside. After countless sleepless nights spent working on his designs, not one of them was to be featured in the mockups they would show to the executives in the meeting later that day. Pixel claimed his designs lacked the necessary polish and aesthetic quality. He called them sub-par even for a junior designer and stressed the importance of sticking to the brand strategy. He felt like a pawn in Pixel's game, assigned meaningless busy work just to keep him away from the important work.
