Chapter 5 Prettiest One Of Them All

• Did that dude just tell Lee Lee she’s pretty. Fuck. I didn’t even realized my hand clinched into a fist so bad that my nails dug into my palm. Lee Lee seemed taken back by the whole thing and said absolutely nothing, I kept looking at her but she kept her eyes glued to the clock, and god I had never seen her run so fast. I had to laugh at how fast she took off.
• The new kid look shocked and sad which made me want to laugh even more. He hadn’t even gotten out of his seat. I got up and walked past him and patted him on the shoulder.
• “I think you scared her away.” I laughed as I walked out of the class.
• He looked like he was looking for her which means he didn’t know she had off campus. Guess he’ll keep looking for her. Cause I ain’t telling him.
• Kelly I guess I saw him looking sad and decided to take advantage.
• “Would you like some help Alex?”
• “No I’m good.”
• “You don’t seem good. Probably because of Kimmy. I warned you. You shouldn’t spend time with her.”
• “I think that’s my decision to make.”
• Kelly huffed. “Suit yourself, but when the baseball team doesn’t treat you like a teammate consider her why.”
• He arched his eyebrows. That statement seemed to piss him off. I just leaned against my locker watching the whole thing unfold. “You’re threatening me because I speak to Kimmy. What is it to anyone if I talk to her.”
• “You really are new here!”
• “What’s going on?” A familiar voice whispers to me. I look over to see Noah fully interested in the conversation unfolding. He leans against the lockers next to me.
• “New kid seems to like Lee Lee.“ I tell him.
• “You’ve got competition.”
• I look at Noah confused. “What?”
• “Dude, don’t tell me. Really? I thought you were just joking. It’s obvious you have a thing for Lee Lee.”
• “Dude what are you talking about. I’m with Kelly.”
• “That don’t mean shit, you tease Lee Lee all the time and goof off around her. Because… you like her. But clearly you’re denying it.”
• “I’m not denying shit.” I said turning back to the conversation which I had now completely ignored.
• “If you say so. But I guarantee you that if that guy likes her and starts spending time with her. It’s going to bother you, and when it does don’t come and tell me. Because imma tell you… I told ya so!” He laughed as he hit my shoulder and walked off.
• “I think you should consider that she has a reputation at this school and not a good one. Especially with the football and baseball team if you know what I mean!” Kelly said with a smirk before walking my way. “Babe you ready to go.”
• I looked at the dude who looked confused and a bit angry and then at Kelly. “Yeah, let’s go.” I pushed myself off of the lockers and walked with Kelly out the parking lot.
• “Are you heading to the diner today?” She asked in a tone that she thought was cute. It was more childish in my opinion.
• “Nah, imma just go home. You?”
• “Oh, I was thinking of joining you at the diner today.”
• “You don’t have some after school activities today?”
• “They got canceled! So will you go to the diner with me.” She said as she gripped onto my arm and tugged it like a little girl begging her dad.
• I rolled my eyes on how childish she was acting and stopped walking right in front of my car. “Sure, hop in.”
• I drove us to the diner and headed in. Noah was already inside and I walked over to join him. Kelly sat next to me.
• “So Kelly I haven’t seen you join Kazer in a while, been busy?”
• For some reason Kelly looked nervous. But I didn’t pay much attention but Noah did. And he arched an eyebrow my direction. He was up to something. I just wasn’t sure what. “Uh yeah I’ve had a lot of stuff I’ve been doing at school.” That sounded off. Even to me. I looked at her and she didn’t seem her normal confident self. And then her phone ran and she immediately flipped the screen over and canceled the call but it was too late. I already saw the name.
• *Stephen.*
• Who the fuck was Stephen. I was about to ask when the waitress came over, she also seemed nervous but that was due to Kelly’s presence she did that to any girl other than her friends.
• “Can I get you guys something?”
• “My normal.” I said. And she smiled and wrote down my order which was always the same. A burger and fries. They had the best burger in town!
• “I’ll get the same as Kazer.” Noah added. “And you Kelly what would you like to have?”
• “A salad.” She sat up straight and looked the waitress right in the eye. Her nerves seem to be gone.
• “Of course.”
• “Thanks Betty!” Noah added as she started to leave. “So Kazer…” he said turning back to me. “How are you and Kelly.”
• For some reason that made me laugh. I have no idea why. Kelly seemed offended by it and turned to look at me strangely. “What’s so funny?”
• “I have no idea.” I quickly added trying to compose myself, but of course Noah had the largest smirk across his face as he leaned back and crossed his arms. Did he know I would laugh at that. It wasn’t even funny.
• “Well we’re doing great. Isn’t that right Kazer.” My name sounded forced through her gritted teeth which was a bit funny but I looked away trying not to show her I was laughing.
• “What about you Noah any girlfriend?” I asked trying to change the subject.
• “Nah, not many pretty girls in our school, you kind of have your eye on the prettiest one of them all.”
