Chapter 6

  • "I have to. You and I cannot be together."
  • "Says the person who cannot even stop the marriage." I scoffed. He exhaled his frustration and took a bite.
  • "Do you remembered what I told you when we first met?" He said. I simply nodded.
  • "Tell me." He asked in a mocking tone. I grit my teeth and spoke up,
  • "If we got married. Then, I'm gonna make your life Hell" I repeated his exact words that always made me think that if my choice is right or not.
  • "Well..." He said as he stood up. My breath hitched when he walked towards me. My grip on the knife and fork tightened. I looked down. He put his hands on either side of me and lean in,
  • "Don't be scared now.." He said as his intense stare pierced my soul. He nuzzles to my neck. His hot breath lingered on my skin giving me eerie dread, "G-Get away." I shuddered, pushing him away with my elbow but to no avail.
  • "Your life in hell has just started." He said in a low tone. He got away and left. After he left, I cursed myself as a tear rolled down my cheek. Why do I always make wrong choices? I tried to stop my tears but they still rolled down. I took a few deep breaths and wiped my tear as Savannah came,
  • "What happened Ma'am? Are you alright?" She asked in a concerned tone. I sniffed as I wiped my tears. I forced a smile and said,
  • "Everything is fine. Just .. I have never been away from my parents." She smiled as she walked closer.
  • "Is there anything I can do for you?"
  • "Looking for a Friend?" I smiled at her.
  • "Anything for you. "She smiled. She seemed nice but I know not every sweet person is sweet. I still remember Emily. How she become a fake friend of mine and broke me.
  • "Let's go Ma'am. I'll show you around." She offered. I smiled and left with her. Maybe walking around the house help me to calm myself. We stopped in the garden. It was so beautiful. It even has a swing. I smiled as I sat on it. Savannah smiled at me and said,
  • "Seems like you liked this place, Most of all." I nodded.
  • "Well Ma'am, I need to go. If I may?"
  • "Oh yeah, you may. You must have other things to do as well." I said in a soft tone. She bowed a little and left.
  • I was swinging. The garden was beautiful but, not as beautiful as ours. I decided the flowers and their arrangement in our garden. This garden is maintained but not loved. I smiled sadly at this.
  • Desmond's words are echoing in my head. I gulped in fear. I am afraid of what he might do to me. But, I am not going to back away. I will make him love me. I will work this marriage out. My determination isn't easy to break. I will feel loved. He is not aware of my weaknesses, I am very pathetic.
  • As I was walking in the garden I lost the track of time. Savannah came and called me,
  • "Ma'am! The Dinner's Ready!" What? It's dinner already. Looks like I lost myself in nature too much.
  • "Coming!" I said as I left for dinner. It 8 pm and Desmond even home yet.
  • "Where's Desmond?" I asked.
  • "Ma'am, Sir is in the office."
  • "He hasn't come yet?"
  • "No."
  • "What are his timings?" I need to know when he left and when he came back from work.
  • "The breakfast was served at 9:30 am. At 10 am Sir leave the house. He came back home from 7 pm to 12 am. All the servants leave for their quarters at 10 pm."
  • "Why are you serving dinner now? Serve it when he comes home."
  • "These are Sir's orders that the dinner will be served at 8:00 pm, even in his absence" If he isn't here who would eat?
  • "Do you serve dinner to in his absence?" I asked resting my chin on my palm.
  • "Sir issued this order today. That the dinner will be served at 8:00 pm for you." I looked at Savannah with wide eyes.
  • "For me? What about him?" I asked. This was unexpected from him. He remembers he has a human- obligation to feed now.
  • "He'll eat later."
  • "I see. Then, I'll eat with him." I smiled as I got up.
  • "No Ma'am. Please eat." Savannah said scared.
  • "Why?"
  • "These are Sir's order; You'll eat dinner at 8 pm no matter what." I sighed in defeat. Seems like going against him isn't a good idea.
  • After dinner, I went to our room. My heart beats so fast when I called it 'Our Room'. The moment I entered the room, Lilly; The head Maid knocked,
  • "Ma'am. Sir is calling for you in his study." She called making my heart stopped. When did he come home? My legs began to tremble as I walked to his office. His words are making me lose my senses. I knocked,
  • "Come in." His deep voice said.
  • I walked in. He was leaning on the desk. He stared at me like a Predator look at his prey. My whole being began to tremble in fear. My hairs stood on their edge. They intensity of his looks always drained my energy.
  • "W-Welcome Home" I stutter in a low tone.
  • "How was your day?" He asked. Mockery was lingering from his every word. I gulped and met his dire gaze.
  • "It was fine." Somehow I manage to say without shuddering.
  • "Oh, Is that so?" He smirked making me immobilized. He took off his coat and threw it on the sofa. He took off his tie as well and rolled up his sleeves. I looked away while blushing. My heart is racing. He then walked towards me and stood in front of me. He looked down at me. He held my chin making me look at him,
  • "Day hasn't ended yet," He leans in. His intense grey eyes bore into my scared blue ones. He let go of me. I looked at his eyes. His stare is making me terrified. He walked behind me and nuzzle in my neck, his hot breath is intimidating me, I lower my gaze as he continued,
  • "Let's see if you can say the same word tomorrow?"
