Chapter 7 Married Into The Family
- Elliott was aware that his marriage to Theresa meant that he would have to adapt to her lifestyle. So, he decided to stay at the Rudowski residence.
- Melvin still needed to rest, so they all left the room.
- Corvin and Gavin seemed preoccupied, hastily making their exit. Catching a glimpse of Theresa, Devin also followed suit and left.
- Elliott wanted to get closer to Theresa, but she seemed to have a distaste for him.
- “Don't come near me!” Theresa lifted her head and added, “Although we're getting married, we're still keeping a distance between each other!”
- After she finished speaking, Theresa left without looking back.
- Just then, laughter echoed from behind Elliott.
- “Hahaha! How embarrassing!”
- “Exactly! If it were me, I'd just find a hole to hide in!”
- “He thought that by winning over Theresa, he could rise in status and, from then on, live a life of luxury in a wealthy family!”
- “Actually, he's nothing more than a good-for-nothing matrilocal son-in-law, totally worthless.”
- “Exactly! I think he just got lucky when he saved Grandpa this time!”
- Pedro and Thalia were standing off to the side, watching the drama unfold. They took the opportunity to make sarcastic remarks about Elliott.
- When faced with the mockery of others, Elliott couldn't help but retort.
- With keen interest, Elliott watched the two, chuckling as he said, “Well, all things considered, I'm still better than two parasites, aren't I?”
- Pedro was livid. He immediately stormed over to Elliott's side and roared, “D*mn it! Who are you calling a parasite?”
- “Are you not a parasite?” Elliott chuckled. “I'm a matrilocal son-in-law, and you're just a parasite. You two can't seriously believe that you're of any use to the Rudowski family, can you?”
- In truth, Elliott had seen through them from the very start. The pair were utterly inept.
- To put it bluntly, they were just depending on their parents.
- Otherwise, they would be as good as Theresa.
- After all, Theresa was still the general manager of Rudowski Group. Meanwhile, those two were lazing around at home and living off others.
- Faced with ridicule, Pedro could no longer bear it. He clenched his fist, ready to punch Elliott.
- Before the fist could even land, Elliott's speed was astounding as he swiftly targeted two acupoints on Pedro's chest.
- Pedro seemed as if he were frozen in place, unable to move his body. “D*mn it! What have you done to me? Why can't I move my body?”
- Elliott looked at Pedro and said, “You could also call it the body fixation technique! Traditional medicine is indeed a profound field!”
- Traditional medicine was profound and complex, involving the movement of energy throughout the human body. Everyone possessed energy, and a practitioner of traditional medicine could harness this energy. Whether it was for healing or dealing with people, as long as one was well-versed in this practice, one could achieve it.
- Taking advantage of this very aspect, Elliott managed to immobilize Pedro.
- This wasn't a technique as miraculous as the martial arts novels would suggest. It could only immobilize a person for half an hour at most.
- “P-Pedro, are you all right?” Thalia asked, her voice filled with panic, yet she dared not touch Pedro.
- “Heh! He'll be fine in half an hour,” Elliott said as he walked away, leaving behind a stern warning. “Consider this a caution for you.”
- As Elliott walked away, a hardened look crossed Pedro's face. “D*mn you, Elliott! I won't let you off the hook!”
- At this point, Elliott had already ventured far, arriving in the courtyard of the Rudowski residence.
- The Rudowski residence was expansive, featuring small pavilions in both the front and back courtyards.
- Unaware of how time had passed, Elliott found himself in the backyard. There, he saw three small mansions, which, by their looks, seemed to be the residences of the Rudowski brothers.
- Just then, a pair of hands seized Elliott, dragging him into one of the mansions.
- When Elliott turned around, he realized it was his supposed wife.
- “Honey, it's you!” Elliott called out. I should always take things as they come!
- Since he was about to marry into the Rudowski family, Elliott made his stance clear. The wedding is set for tomorrow, but she's already my bride today!
- Elliott then looked at Theresa with a cheerful grin. I've been single for twenty years, and I've been longing for a woman's company! I wonder what that would feel like... Haha! I have a wife!
- The expression on Elliott's face was evident, causing Theresa on the side to feel disgusted.
- I'm from a reputable clan and also the general manager of Rudowski Group! How am I marrying a pervert? I don't need a handsome or extremely talented man, but I at least deserve a normal person, no? His behavior says it all! It's clear he's up to no good! Theresa, suppressing her nausea, flung a piece of paper toward him. “Even though we're married now, we need to set some ground rules for the future!”
- Oh? Ground rules? With curiosity, Elliott looked at the piece of paper handed to him by Theresa. It read: Without the woman's consent, one should not touch her. Without the woman's consent, one should not use endearment terms such as 'Honey'. During our cohabitation, we'll sleep in separate beds.
- With a tug at the corner of his mouth, Elliott thought he had no choice but to agree. Wait... Is she joking with me?
- With that in mind, Elliott stepped forward, puckering his lips as he leaned toward Theresa. I'm going to force myself onto her and see what she can do!
- Slap!
- The slap landed crisply on Elliott's face.
- “Are you serious?” Elliott covered his face and looked at Theresa in astonishment.
- Theresa paid no mind to Elliott, leading him to a room on the second floor.
- The bedroom was neat and refreshing, filled with a subtle scent of camellia. It was Theresa's room.
- Subsequently, Theresa picked up the quilt and tossed it to Elliott. “At night, you'll sleep on the floor!”
- After speaking, Theresa was about to leave. “This is an arranged marriage by my grandpa, so my hands are tied. You'd better stick to the agreement. Otherwise, there's no telling what I might do.”
- Ha! Such a fiery woman! Quite interesting! Elliott watched as Theresa walked away, a smile playing on his lips.
- Elliott had faith in himself. He believed that one day he would win over Theresa.
- In the evening, Elliott received a call from Albus, who seemed quite cheerful.
- Immediately, Elliott exploded in anger and thundered, “Dad, look at the mess you've made! Now, I'm stuck sleeping on the floor!”
- “Hahaha! Theresa is indeed proud. It seems my son has a conquest ahead of him! Relax! Take things as they come! Young man, love needs to be cultivated slowly!” Albus said.
- Even though Elliott was seething with anger, he had to admit that Albus was right.
- At that moment, Elliott's anger considerably subsided. “Dad, when are you coming back? I'm getting married tomorrow,” he said.
- “I can't go back right now. I still have things to deal with. You'll have to figure this out on your own!”
- With a sudden click, Albus had hung up the phone on the other end.
- The following day, under the arrangements made by the Rudowski family, Elliott and Theresa had their wedding ceremony.
- Although there were some who were dissatisfied with Elliott, Melvin approved of him, so no one dared to voice any objections.
- And so it was, Elliott left his home in Lusterg to start a new life in Hofcaster, as a matrilocal son-in-law of the esteemed Rudowski family.
- Due to Theresa's unfavorable attitude toward Elliott, ever since they got married, Elliott had no choice but to sleep on the floor.
- A true man had ambitions that could reach far and wide. Elliott was not one to sweat the small stuff. If he had to sleep on the floor, he'd just make do with it. His robust physique and strong constitution meant he feared nothing.
