Chapter 249 Things Aren’t Technically Over for Us

  • I awkwardly smiled in response. In fact, this ring was bought when I married Carson back then. Despite its cheap and old appearance, I still wore it on my finger, not because of how much I loved him, but because I needed it to ‘prove’ how sweet Carson and I were since things weren’t technically over for the two of us. Feeling a bitter twinge, I helplessly replied, “Well, it sounds like you’d buy the most beautiful ring for the woman you love, Mr. Walker.”
  • “Absolutely not. I’d design it myself instead.” Upon hearing that, I looked at him in surprise, whereupon he met my gaze while my heart pounded rapidly. Intimidated, I lowered my head and pretended that I was drawing, which took me a moment to calm down. Nevertheless, I didn’t dare to lift my head and cast my eyes on Eric again, only concentrating on my work in front of the computer. Meanwhile, Eric seemingly decided to leave me to it throughout the morning. Only after he knocked on my table later on, did I raise my head to look at him.
  • “You’re such a workaholic. Come on, let’s go for lunch!”
