Chapter 46 I Don't Know If I Can Face Him Again
- L A N A
- “I’d like for you to come with me tomorrow,” he says as soon as we're the only ones in the room. The second those words leave his mouth, I feel my stomach tighten as I stare back at him from across the living room, still trying to process everything he told me about the meeting and the other families. And... the fact that Ezio will be there too, which honestly feels like the worst part out of all of it. I already know tomorrow won’t be simple, and now hearing him ask me to stand beside him during all of that only makes the nerves sitting inside me worsen, especially after how things ended the last time I saw Ezio.
- “Wait… why…?” I ask quietly, my voice coming out unsure, but I can’t help it at this point. My fingers instinctively twist together as I look at him, searching his expression for answers while he remains standing there watching me with that same calm look he always carries when speaking about dangerous situations like they’re normal parts of his everyday life.
