Chapter 32 It's Chaos

• We are just about to leave for the dining room when Dante suddenly pauses beside me, his attention shifting past me toward Daniella. I follow his line of sight, noticing that Daniella has slowed her steps and is now moving in the opposite direction. I stop walking as well, unsure if I should keep following Dante or stay where I am, my eyes moving between the two of them as I wait for one of them to say something first.
• “You won’t be joining us, Daniella?” Dante asks, his voice calm but carrying enough authority to make her stop mid-step as she turns back to face us, her posture relaxed but her expression giving away that she has more on her mind than she is letting on.
